Hawaii Kailua Beach Park

Kelsey and Brit have been going on morning hikes with their kids. We were invited to go along but that was not an option for us since Kefford was in a boot so on this day we did our own thing. We went to the North Shore to go to the Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium where we were able to find some fun souvenirs.

Pearl Harbor was just down the road so when we were done at the Swap Meet we headed over to check it out and see if we could get tickets to tour the USS Arizona. We could only get tickets online but we thought maybe we could get in on standby. The standby line was really long so we just walked around and looked in the museums and explored what we could. It was so beautiful and so peaceful and I loved being able to read about what that day was like for the ones who were there.

After we saw all that we could at Pearl Harbor we left to go find a beach to go swimming and to find some food. We took the scenic route through the middle of the island and it was a little bit of a longer drive but it was so beautiful.
When we found a beach Kefford dropped us girls off and he and Ryker left to go find us some food. We changed in the bathrooms and Kenedy decided to take a picture of her while Avy changed and used Kenedy as a clothing rack.
I love being at the beach and was so excited to finally experience the waters of Honolulu. The water was beautiful and so clear and it was amazing to be in the ocean and be able to see all the way to the bottom. I loved it so much and had a lot of fun being in the water with my girls. We were all so hungry and kept waiting and waiting for Kefford and Ryker to get back with no end in sight. Finally they arrived with chicken and potato chips and food never tasted so good! Early on in our trip Rykers phone stopped working and so they stopped in at a phone place to see if they could figure out what the problem was and if it could get fixed. They were not able to get any resolution which was a bummer.
Once we were done there we headed back to Waikiki. After we showered and changed we walked down to get some food from a food truck and then headed down to the beach to eat and watch the sunset. I can't remember what exactly the food was but it was really good!
It was basically a stir fry with noodles, cabbage and chicken and Rylee and I shared a bowl and it was plenty for the two of us.

We walked down to the end of a pier where the waves were crashing up and over. I encouraged my kids to stand on the end for a picture hoping the waves would crash on them but they never did...hahaha bummer.

There were a lot of these funky looking trees that looked like the roots were growing above ground. Ryker had fun climbing it while the rest of us watched him
