Grandmas Tea

While we were in town switching all the kids back Alison organized a quick Grandmas Tea for the girls that were in town. First was a reminder of the manners that needed to be used and then the treats were passed around. As they were eating, time was spent trying to get conversation going by asking each other questions. I am not sure that conversations were flowing but I do know it was a fun time for them all to spend together as well as a great ending to a fun week.

Cousin Swap

During Spring Break we had a bit of a cousin swap going on. From Saturday to Tuesday I had Mikayla and Bailey here while Avynlea and Rylee were in Nyssa with Ally. On Tuesday I got Avynlea and Rylee back along with Ally while Kenedy and Ryker went to Mikayla and Baileys house. Wednesday morning Rylee went to stay at Qiana and Brielles house for an overnighter. On THursday Rylee came back home and then Friday we went to Nyssa to swap back all the kids that were still swapped. I think the kids had a really fun week hanging out with their cousins and spending quality fun time with family.
Kenedy climbed to the top of the tree in her Grandpas her Grandpas yard and was really pleased with herself and her climbing skills.

Sara gave Kenedy this One Direction puzzle and Kenedy along with Mikayla put it together in a couple of days. She then Mod Podged it all together and is hoping to get a frame for it.

Happy St Patricks Blah

St Patricks Day this year was a bit of a let down for me. It was on a Monday and since Rylees birthday was the day before I focused on preparing for that and kept telling myself I could get St Patricks Day things on Monday during the day, no worries. Until Sunday night when I realized I did not have any chocolate coins that the Leprechauns leave at our house. I was super panicked and then just told myself there was nothing I could do about it so it was no use worrying. The next morning we woke up to some Leprechaun mischief, Rylees Happy Birthday sign had been tampered with, our furniture was rearranged and messed up and once again green pee was found in our toilet. Luckily no one noticed or cared that we were missing the Leprechaun gold. I made my family green pancakes for breakfast and for dinner we had corned beef with green jello, green apple kool-aid, green butter for our rolls and red potatoes. It was a delicious Irish themed meal and we all loved it.

Rylee is 7!

Rylee turned 7 years old on Sunday March 16th. It is nuts to me that my youngest is now 7, how fast the years fly by! She requested a dinner of Spaghetti and Meatballs and so that is what se got along with with bread and salad. I had to go to a quick meeting right after church and so food prep was mostly prepared by Kefford and he did a great job!
Kefford had a long meeting he had to be at and so Rylee did not get to open her presents until much later in the day. She had a really hard time waiting but at last she got to get to it. I had once again invited some family over to help celebrate and they came right when we started with the present opening.

Money and candy from Grandma Bonnie

A new outfit that Kefford and Avynlea picked out.
A nerf gun from Joshua and Mallory that she was really excited about!
And a new bed for her American Girl Doll. RYlee had requested a bed for her doll and knowing the authentic beds for these dolls were ridiculously expensive I opted to get a cheaper one from Michaels which was made even less expensive with a 40% off coupon. I bought foam and made a mattress out if it which I then covered with some cute material.  I was not happy with the look of the blanket and pillow that it came with so I bought some new material from JoAnns and recovered them and made them reversible with the new material. They turned out so cute! I loved the look of it all and Rylee was super thrilled!
After presents all the cousins played and played. They like to do dress up and it was fun watching them run around in the dress up clothes. Kenedy took the pictures for me. We had Kelsey and Brit with Brielle, Qiana, Asher, Tayvia and Xander plus Steve and Mikell with Brooke, Jenna and James all here! Full house, luckily it was a nice day and so the kids did a lot of playing outside.

Rylee wanted a "Frozen" themed "party" so I was just going to buy some plates and cups wth the Frozen characters on them but they were completely out of stock on everything Frozen except for a balloon. So I bought the balloon and then got generic plates and cups in Frozen colors. I made cupcakes in ice cream cones and did not even get a picture of them because there was so much chaos with all the kids running around and requesting one that I just let them go. Poor Rylee didn't even get sung to. Luckily she did not care and just had fun with her cousins.

5 Things I Love About My Rylee:

1) Rylee still loves to cuddle with me and I love it too. She is getting big so sitting on the lap cuddles are not the norm anymore :( But she cozies up to me and that is great. She is super warm blooded and so these cuddles are especially great when it is cold because she turns into my own personal heater. I love it! I love her blowing kisses to me whenever I drop them off at school. She is definitely not stingy with her kisses.

2) Rylee is very generous and always willing to share. I have to step in when she is being too generous and her siblings are taking advantage of her and not let her share so much but I love that she is so kind!

3) This kid makes me laugh so much. She is such a goofball and pulls the funniest faces. Rylee likes to have fun and I love watching her enjoy life. She is always the one to run to the car when I pick them up from school and waves and waves when she sees me.

4) We did a Family Home Evening lesson an prayers and Rylee really learned a lot from the lesson. I love listening to her pray because she really gets it and is so good at expressing thanks to our Heavenly Father. I love her good example.

5) Rylee has her own unique style and I really dig it. She puts together fun outfits and always knows exactly how she wants her hair. She is not too keen on having two ponytails anymore which is sad but she does love sporting one pony and really loves to turn it into a side pony!
