ROAR

Each quarter of school one child from each classroom is picked who represents the ROAR quality trait spotlighted that quarter.
R= Respect
O= Ownership
A= Attitude
R= Responsibility
The last awards assembly each teacher picks one student in their class who possesses all four ROAR traits. I was a very proud Mama when I got the letter telling me that my Avynlea was the award winner from her class. I was surprised but not too surprised because she really does possess all four of those traits.
They have a daily work paper that they have to do each day in the morning and lately her teacher has had a guess who portion. This was what was written when the answer was Avynlea...

Guess Who? This student has the neatest hair-dos. He/She also has really amazing glasses and suspenders. What I really like about this student is how nice he/she is to everyone. He/She always has a smile on his/her face, and makes good choices in the classroom. This student has all the qualities of a ROAR student!

I love what was written about Avynlea and am so proud to be her Mom!

Happy 21st Birthday Breana

We got to celebrate my Niece Breanas 21st birthday on April 4th. Because I am the best Aunt ever fr her birthday dinner she got Steak, sauteed mushrooms, and some otherstuff. I can't really remember what else I made though I am pretty sure some type of potato was included. We ate dinner and then instead of a birthday cake, which she is not a big fan of, I made birthday parfaits. Breana loves all things American and so I made red, white and blue parfaits using sponge cake, whipped cream, blueberries and strawberries. They were most delicious!

After all the yummy food she got to open some presents we got for her.

Her birthday card from Grandma Bonnie made it and she was obviously thrilled with it!

Happy Birthday Breana! We love you and are glad you are a part of the family!!

Park Fun

A couple of weeks ago I had the grand idea to pack a picnic dinner and have everyone go to the park for Family Home Evening. All of the kids made their own sandwiches and after the food was packed we picked up Avy and Ryker from piano lessons and headed out. Despite it being a bit too chilly for me everyone had fun. My favorite was watching Kefford with all four kids on the swings.

Easter 2013

Eater morning the kids were very anxious to find their Easter Baskets. Well the younger three were, my teenager did not like being pulled out of bed. Too bad for her ;O)
As requested by the kids the Easter Bunny hid their baskets. I think most of them needed clues to find them, the Easter Bunny hides them good in our house!

The teenager did not want her picture taken and did a good job of hiding her face. sigh.

All ready for church in their Easter finest.

I then had them do their best Easter Bunny impression.

I think Avy was the winner! :o)

After church I let the kids dye the Easter Eggs.

Our traditional Bunny cake. I really need to figure something different out for next year. All that hard work and a week later only one ear was eaten. I had to throw out most of the cake. tsk tsk Peterson kids.
