really kids?

I am a great Mom :0) and like any great Mom I make my kids do chores. One chore I make them do is clean up after we eat dinner. This involves clearing the table, wiping the table, putting food away, washing the dishes and loading the dishwasher. To be fair I do clean up after myself as I go along so its not that big of a deal to clean up after. Also I do the cooking and am usually the one setting the table so It is only fair to have my youngins do the clean up. They have to do this every night, the only thing that changes is who does what. Yet most nights we get complaining about how unfair it is and I usually have to call them back in when they say they are done to really get it done. Last night Kenedy left the colander with some noodles in it on the counter and right next to it was a baggie with two leftover pieces of french bread and crammed on top of that more noodles with the baggies gaping open. You can bet she got called back in to fix that disaster. You would think after doing this for how many years the kids would get it and know how to clean up. Yet a couple of weeks ago I came home from Mutual to find the dishwasher left open and looking like this...
now how the heck does this mess work? Plates are crammed in and stuck together, the water bottle is sideways and still has the lid on it, cups are just thrown in. It reminded me of those detergent commercials where the kids would load the dishwasher making it look like a bomb went off and yet everything comes out sparkling clean. I can guarantee this mess if left to go through a cycle would not come out sparkling clean. I think an FHE lesson on loading a proper dishwasher is in order.

Girls Night Out!

On Friday May 15th Kefford and Ryker left for their Father Sons Campout so it gave us girls a chance to have out girls night out. We went out to dinner and this year we went to Souper Salad Buffet. I thought it would be fun, cheaper and give us more food. :0) It did all three! The girls enjoyed being able to pick their own foods to eat and liked the chance to go back for seconds. Rylee took a big liking to the bread sticks and kept eating those. She even snatched some off of Kenedys plate when Kenedy was occupied elsewhere. After we all ate what we wanted we went to the ice-cream bar which turned out to be every ones favorite part.

After the food fun we went home and watched a princess movie we picked up from the library then went to bed. The next morning Kenedy had a sewing class in Boise and so we dropped her off and then I went to the mall with the two other girls to wander around. While there I had a most scary Mommy moment...let me explain!
See these nice escalators in the picture? See that little ridge on the outside of the escalator that Rylee and Kenedy are standing on? (oh and this picture was taken after we picked Kenedy up cause she wanted to go to the mall and get something, the story happened during the first mall trip.) Well Avynlea took a liking to riding the escalators and so I let her do that for a little, Rylee did not enjoy them and so she stayed with me down at the bottom. Rylee liked that the rubber handle on the escalator moved with the escalator and so she started playing with that. I was looking through my purse trying to locate my phone so I could see what time it was when I heard Rylee call my name kind of panicky. I looked up and she had a death grip on the rubber handle and it was pulling her up on the OUTSIDE of the escalator. Rylee was holding the rubber handle and her feet were dragging along that little ridge that the girls are standing on in the picture. She was already high enough that when I went to grab her I had to reach up high and I grabbed hold of her shirt and yanked her down to me. All I could think about for the rest of the day is what would have happened if I couldn't reach her and she just kept going up and up the outside of the escalator where any moment she could have lost her grip and fell. I was really scared. Luckily I was able to get her and nothing majorly bad happened.
Despite the scare (shudder) us girls had a fun Girls Night Out and look forward to next years!

Mothers Day :0)

Mothers Day was a really great day. It started off with Breakfast in bed. I got french toast, yogurt. orange juice and flowers. Then the kids gave me some notes and little homemade gifts. They had a primary activity the day before and all the kids made their Moms little felt Flowers to wear. I, of course, got three so I wore one on my shirt and the other two I wore...

in my hair! I felt very cute and fun!

Kenedy gave me a gift card to Victorias secret which was lots of fun and then later Avynlea gave me another gift card to Victorias secret. That was a fun surprise which came after I thought we were done with the gift giving. I was doing my hair when she brought it in.

Rylee also came up to me later with another gift...a gift card for a day spa! So excited to use it, I really want to get a pedicure because I never have before and there is enough for that and some additional services.

Ryker gave me a box. Hmmm whats in the box? Not the right shape for a brand new camera..darn it! :0)
It was a digital photo frame!
Very cool!

After church Kefford made dinner, hamburgers, french fries, chips, carrots and snap peas. It was such a rare nice day that we ate it outside on the grass. Afterwards we ate the yummy cake Kefford made for me!
I had such a great Mothers day and really love my kiddos!
Thanks also to Kefford for being such a great husband!
I love him too!!

working on it!

I know that I have not a good poster lately. I know that you are all tired of coming to my blog hoping for some fun, juicy news and being disappointed when you see the same pictures and postings day after day. I know that eventually you will stop checking and I know that I will be friendless in my little private blogland. But take heart because I will jump back on the little wagon soon enough. My camera is dead and we dug out our old one and have been using that but I am not quite sure I know where the cord is to that camera. I have an idea but I think part of me is afraid to look because what if its not in that spot? Then I will have absolutely no idea where it could be and that, my friend, is not good.
I will try to work on that!

Don't give up on me!!
