Happy Birthday Kenedy!

Well Kenedy decided to turn 14 and apparently there was not a thing I could do to stop this from happening. She is now a Mia Maid and getting ready to be a Freshman in High School. Her birthday fell on a tuesday and we let Kenedy open her presents before we took the family to eat at Dairy Queen. Kenedy sent me a wish list a while back of things she wanted for her birthday. I ignored her list and only bought one thing on it which was a pair of Toms and that was only because I found a discount place online and I got them for cheap. Everything else she wanted was covered with One Direction and I was not inclined to go down that route. Lucky for Kenedy I have great taste and she loved everything she ended up getting!

She wanted the One Direction perfume which was $50 and instead I bought her 3 different bottles of fine mist spray from Bath and Body Works and because they were on sale and I had an extra 20% off I got them for a total of $15. Much better then the overpriced boy band perfume!

One token One Direction item. A notebook that was on clearance at Claires.

Kenedy wanted a chocolate cake and what she got was a very delicious S'mores chocolate cake. Yum!

These photos Kefford took with his phone. :)

5 things I love about Kenedy

1) She is and has always been such a good student. She stays on top of her assignments, she turns things in, she studies for tests. She makes things so easy for me in regards to doing her schoolwork. She cares about her grades and always wants to do her best. It has never been a fight to get her to do homework and I love that she is such a hard worker. I know her teachers at school love her!

2) She loves church and loves going to mutual and being involved. She was just recently Beehive President and Kenedy really impressed me with her dedication and how she took charge. She is an amazing leader and really went out of her way to support her leaders and support and love the other Beehives. She is a natural leader and I am happy to see her using her talents for good.

3) Kenedy is an awesome Piano player. With her busy cheer schedule she has had to miss a lot of piano lessons. But despite that she continues to practice the piano and has recently decided that she wants to work on learning the hymns so that she can play in Young Women's. She has already learned "As Sisters In Zion" and is starting to work on "Praise to the Man" and "The Spirit of God". I am so happy that she has learned to love playing the piano as well as finding the benefits to practicing and working hard at it.

4)Because of Cheer Kenedy decided that she wants to learn how to tumble. She is taking a class at the Dance Studio and has come a long way. A lot of this is because she takes it seriously and also practices some at home. I love watching her try things that don't make sense and then once she has mastered it  she sees how it is a transition step to learning something else. It is an upward progression and she is getting there.

5)I love it when Kenedy comes and talks to me about things. She likes to come and tell me about how Mutual was or whats going on with her friends. I love how she doesn't hold grudges and even though she does not like getting into trouble or being punished for doing things, she seems to accept it and does not spend a whole lot of time pouting. She is quick to forgive and is a good example of that for me.

Homework

Usually Rylee has no problem doing her homework after school. She comes home gets a snack and then gets her homework done. Today she was not wanting to do her homework at all. Since I just got my new camera I used Rylee as my unwilling subject to check out the camera. She was not happy with me or her homework.

In the bottom picture you can see in the bottom left corner her homework where it landed after she threw it. Temper, temper.
