Roaring Springs

Another summer activity we have not done in a couple of years was go to Roaring Springs. So since we were overdue we decided to do it. Another added bonus was having a little bit older kids so I did not have to be stuck at the kiddie pool all day long. This is the trip that we really saw little Rylee for what she really is... a little Daredevil! This girl had absolute no fear. She went on anything and everything. We started the day having her wear a life jacket and we all started going on rides. Kenedy had a friend there and so we did not see much of her but the rest of us stuck together for some of the day and split up for some of the day. Kefford got Rylee to go on the Avanlache and I had to watch this happen. I went on this particular ride a couple of years ago and vowed never to do it again. I wish I could have captured the look of terror on Rylees face on the initial drop. It was priceless! I thought she would get off the ride and be done but she got off and wanted to do it again. Crazy girl! She went on it a total of three times! No fear in her! She actually ended up doing every single ride in the park except the Cliffhanger which I think she would have done but I was not about to let her do that ride.

Here is the only picture I got of Kenedy and her friend Hannah because it was pretty much the only time I saw her the entire day. I know she had fun though and was so happy to have Hannah there with her.
My friend Crystal and her two kiddos met us at the park and while I was off hanging out with her for a while i found out that Rylee went down the racing slides into the 10 feet deep pool without her life jacket and managed to swim herself to the steps! I was amazed! I had to see this for myself and so we went down together.

So very impressed with her newfound confidence in the water! Totally loving it!
Avynlea had a fun day hanging out with her friend Nathan.

All in all it was a great day and I am so glad we got to be there. I don't have any pictures of Ryker because he spent most of the day trying to avoid us. Unlike Rylee Ryker is not a Daredevil and didn't want his Dad to push him on anything he didn't want to do. So there you go!

McCall

Something I have been wanting to do for a while was to take the kids to McCall for a week and hang out. Finally we had a week that nobody was using it and so we invited our friends the Blackburns and off we went. Kefford had to work and so it was just me and the kids and my friend and her kids. Unfortunately the Blackburns could only stay until wed and it was rainy with no sun up until the minute they left. Honestly the sun came out as soon as they drove away it was kind of a bummer but it did not stop us from having fun.

Jacob brought me some flowers he had picked on one of his explorations and they looked so pretty. His flowers were quickly joined by flowers from some of the other kids.
Here is the only picture I got of most of the kids. Ryker and Daniel were off playing some boy game I am sure.

We looked out the window one day and saw a cute little fox hanging out. It stuck around for a little bit watching us watch him.
Wednesday night Alison and Trista came to be with us for the rest of the week. On Thursday we decided to go on a hike. I talked Avy and Rylee into climbing onto this stump so I could get a picture. It was after they climbed up that we discovered it was covered with fire ants! I hurried to take the picture and then had them jump off, luckily they did not get bit.
Trista took the kids to the lake to collect tadpoles. They had a lot of fun doing it, but on the way back Kenedy who was riding one of the four wheelers somehow crashed into a guard well and got some scrapes and bruises. Luckily she was not too badly injured. The tadpoles were released back into the lake the day we left.

Later that day we took the kids to a Hot Springs pool that was about 20 minutes from McCall. We all had so much fun playing around. It was perfect water for me to swim in because it was not too cold. I loved it!

Trista and Kenedy learned a new trick and soon we got all of them doing it!

Trista wanted me to get a picture of her doing a headstand. Unfortunately she couldn't quite get her legs straight up. Good effort though!

Avynlea and Rlee thought it would be fun to belly flop off the side of the pool. They did this for a while and did not seem to feel any pain. Crazy girls!

Fun, Fun, Fun week and we will definitely be doing it again next year!
