My Brave Cutie Patootie

This is the super cute outfit that Rylee got for her birthday from her Grandma Bonnie. I think she looks adorable in it and it is the perfect outfit for my little girlie girl princess!

On Tuesday March 30th Rylee had her 4 year old well child check up. I had decided before hand that I was going to have Rylee get her Kindergarten shots, just to get it done with and so we don't have to worry about it anymore. I talked to her about it and told her what was going to happen and she seemed to be OK with it. I told her that she was going to get some pokes and that it was going to her a bit but after we were done she got to have a sucker. While we were there waiting Rylee told me that she was going to be very brave. She was so cute and seemed totally unconcerned with everything.
Her four year old statistics are:
Weight: 37 1/4  75%
Height: 42  90%
After that they tried to check her vision but it was a little bit hard because Rylee did not know what some of the names of the pictures were. But the nurse determined that her vision was about 20/30 which she said was where it should be.
Finally it came time for the shots. the nurse gave Rylee a sucker to start sucking on because she said it helps to have a little bit of sugar in them. Rylee laid down on the table and was told to cross her arms over her chest. I stayed by her head and helped to hold her arms down and then the nurse began. Rylee flinched a little with each shot, a total of five, but never made a peep. She was so brave. I could tell by the fith one that she was probably going to lose it if she had to have anymore but luckily they were done.

Everything was fine until later that night when Rylee started to feel what was done to her. She got a fever and her legs were swelling up a little, all completely normal. She was crying pretty hard saying that her legs hurt and so I gave her some Tylenol so that she could feel better. She woke up 2-3 times during the night with a fever and in pain so I would give her more Tylenol. Finally I let her get in bed with me so I could help her a little better.
Despite all of the pain I am glad that we got this done with now so we don't have to worry about it ever again!

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

The night of Rylees Birthday I took the kids to go see Tangled at the movie theater. After we got done and were on our way home I remembered that the next day was Saint Patrick's Day and that I had forgotten all about it. So I made a quick stop at Zurchers to purchase some chocolate gold coins. I didn't remind the kids about the next day because I wanted the next morning to be an even bigger surprise so they went to bed unaware.
The next morning when the kiddos woke up I reminded them of what day it was and after they put on their green they all rushed downstairs to check out what mischief the Leprechauns caused at our house. Those crazy Leprechauns turned furniture upside down, switched the couch pillows, put chairs on top of tables and counters and even left green tinkle in the toilet. Lucky for us he dropped his chocolate gold for us to eat! ;o)
For dinner that night we had green jello, green mashed potatoes, green rolls, green kool-aid and Ireland's own corned beef. Yum, yum, yummers!

Unicorns

Unicorns are perfect.  There is nothing better than a unicorn.  Except, maybe, two unicorns.  Because then you can name one of the unicorns Hitler and the other unicorn Mussolini and then you can have 'em fight each other.  To the death.  Then whichever one dies you can pretend it was the evil dictator and not actually a perfect unicon and then you get to drink the unicorn blood.  Except you probably shouldn't drink the unicorn blood because it tastes like lime KoolAid with a little to much sugar added plus unicorns have all sorts of nasty diseases and you don't want none of that.  In conclusion, I guess my summer vacation was pretty rad.

Happy 4th Birthday Rylee!

I cannot believe that my baby is now 4! Where have the years gone? Sometimes I think this little girl looks more like a 6 year old then a 4 year old. She is getting so big it's crazy.
Rylee has been so excited for her birthday to arrive and when it finally came she was ready to party! The day before her Grandma Alison came and took her and Kenedy clothes shopping for their birthday. I stayed home with the other two kids and let Rylee and Kenedy have fun with their Grandma. they both came home with some super cute clothes and accessories. I told Rylee to pick one of her new outfits to wear on her special day and she chose this pretty dress.
 Doesn't she look beautiful?!
this is another outfit that she came home with that she wore on St. Patricks day.
Kefford came home from work a little early so that we could start celebrating Rylees birthday. He had meetings that night so we had to start early. First up we let Rylee open her presents and boy did she get some great presents.
Grandma Bonnie sent her a strawberry shortcake toy, along with a super cute new outfit and a bunch of packages of M&M's, her favorite candy.
She got a card from Great Grandma Marge that had $5 in it. Pretty nice!
I bought her a Rapunzel Polly pocket that I thought to get that day. Once she opened it I told her that I got her that because after we had cake I was taking all the kids to the movies to see Tangled. they were all pretty excited about that one!
After she was done opening her gifts and while she was starting to dig in and play around with them I went into the family room with my camera and called for Rylee to come in. Once she did she saw the dollhouse that Keffords Dad helped us to get for her. She stood and looked at it in amazement for a couple of seconds and then immediately called for her siblings to come in and take a look. I think she was pretty happy with the house!
My friend Heidi decorates cakes and is really, really good at it. Rylee told me that she wanted a Princess cake and so I was talking to Heidi about how much it would cost to have her make a Princess Barbie cake for Rylee. During our conversation about it she told me the cost but then said that she could give me the tools she uses and that I could do it myself. I was intrigued with the idea and was really surprised that Heidi would be so generous with her stuff and ideas. What a good friend! I decided to bite the bullet and just go ahead and do it myself, I think it is more personal for Rylee for me to do it and more fun.
It took some work to pull it off and it does not look as fancy or amazing as if it were professionally done but Rylee absolutely loved her cake and I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

This picture got a little bit of order but when I asked Rylee what she wanted for her birthday dinner she told me chicken nuggets. When she saw me adding french fries to the baking sheet she said "but I don't want french fries, I don't like them". I assured her that she did not have to eat them that they were for everyone else. She was satisfied with that answer and ate her yummy dinner of chicken nuggets and a roll I added to give her a bit of variety. :o) She got to eat on the special plate and that made her dinner extra, extra special!

5 Reasons I love Rylee:

1. Rylee is a sweetheart. She loves to cuddle and loves to give kisses and hugs. Sometimes her kisses are a little awkward because her height makes some of her kisses land on my behind but she is so sweet and I love her kisses that land on my face.

2. She loves all things girlie. I love watching her playing dress up and dancing around the house. She comes with me to my dance class and she spends the time doing her own dancing to the music. It is fun to watch her dancing around the room.

3. She likes playing with her siblings but she is also very content to play by herself. In fact I think usually she prefers it to be only her. Nobody to fight over toys with her tell her she can't play. It is fun to watch her imagination in her playing.

4. She loves being with me. I love that Rylee says I am her best friend. I am sure that feeling will not last forever but for now I am perfectly content being her bestie. She is my little buddy and we have a lot of fun hanging out while the other kids are at school.

5. She is always happy to volunteer to say family prayers and I love listening to her talk to her Heavenly Father. She gets a bit silly sometimes but is quick to do better after we talk to her about being more serious. She brings a special spirit into our home and we are all happy to have Rylee here with us.

Working on my Autograph!

OK so click on the Babes in Hairland blog that is on my sidepage under other blogs I read. Once on her site click on where it says to click here to see the winner of her bling thingie giveaway. OK now that you are there read the post about who the winner is. Sadly I was not the winner, boooo,  but, I am the one who entered the giveaway by saying I would bling out my boring bras! Seriously that is totally me! Of all the comments she got she mentioned MINE! MINE was the best! What a great feeling. I didn't need to win, although that would have been fun, I feel like a winner just by being mentioned as best comment! I am feeling so famous right now. I do feel just a bit slighted by her not wanting to mention who I am. I think that she thinks that the mention would embarrass me but clearly she does not know me! HAHAHAHA! YES!!

Happy 11th Birthday Kenedy!

So Kenedy's birthday was a bit of an odd day. Keffords Grandpa Max passed away that week and Kenedys Birthday was the day of his Funeral. Kenedy needed some new church dresses and so I took her to Kohl's a couple of weeks earlier and let her pick out two new ones for her birthday. That morning I let her pick out one of them to wear to the funeral. Of course I did not get a picture of how cute she looked in her new dress. But let me tell you she looked super cute!
So we went to the funeral and it was a pretty great funeral. Grandpa Max was an amazing man and he left an awesome legacy to live up to. Lots of Keffords cousins knew that it was Kenedys birthday and so she got a lot of birthday wishes from the family which was nice.
After the funeral we came back t keffords parents house and hung out there for the rest of the day. All of Keffords family was there and it was fun to hang out with them and for the kids to be able to play with their cousins. Dustin's little girl Isabelle is 3 and this kid is in a league of her own. She is very mischievous and  usually does naughty things very quietly. We were all sitting in the kitchen when we noticed Isabelle pouring water on the table and then licking it up like a dog. I think it was Michelle who told her to stop and took the cup away form her. Minutes later she had gotten the cup back and was doing the same thing. So Michelle took it away again. Minutes later after that we saw Isabelle holding a cup filled with water very carefully and walking into the family room. Sara told her to bring the cup back and right after she said that Isabelle ran to where Kenedy was sitting in the banana chair playing with Ryker's DSI and threw the water in her face. We were all shocked, most of all Kenedy. It was kind of funny and you have to wonder what goes on in her mind but of course Isabelle got into trouble and Kenedy was OK aside from being soaked. That was a fine happy birthday from her little cousin!
Finally we decided Kenedy had waited long enough and we got out her cupcakes so that we could sing Happy Birthday to the Birthday girl. I made peanut butter chocolate cupcakes for her birthday and they were most delicious. I love all things peanut butter and chocolate and I am glad that Kenedy likes the combo enough to let me make them for her birthday.
While Kenedy was busy eating her cupcake Kefford brought her gift in and set it behind her. It was a bit funny to see her sitting there unaware that her birthday gift was right behind her. Kefford bought her an electric piano because he had one when he was a kid and always liked playing with it and he thought she would enjoy it the same way. This way she could practice her piano music in her room whenever she wants to.
Here is Isabelle playing with Kenedys gift while Kenedy sits there unaware.
I finally told Kenedy to close her eyes and then we set the piano in front of her. Once she opened her eyes she was confused for a second and then quickly warmed up to the idea of this very cool gift. Kefford also got her a cheapo digital video camera which she thought was a lot of fun. Those along with the two dresses I had already given her made for a very fine birthday!
Once we got home Kenedy was able to open the package Grandma Bonnie sent her which was money and candy plus she got a card from Grandma Marge filled with money. In addition to all of that her Aunt Erin sent her a gift card to Target! Not a bad birthday at all!
Whitney gave Kenedy this cute shirt for her birthday which she loves and looks very stylish in!
I took Kenedy to Target with her Birthday money and she picked out a super cute new swimming suit, swimming shorts and new black leggings.

5 Reasons I Love Kenedy

1. She is really helpful and is usually willing to help me when I need it. I love that she is able to baby-sit and I am completely serious when I say she is the best baby-sitter we have ever had.

2. It fills my heart with joy to no end that she is a bookworm like me. I love that she has found the joy of reading and some of her favorite books to read are from my collection of babysitters club books.

3. She is a Valiant member of the church and I love to see how her testimony is growing. She has a good sense of what is right and wrong and I can tell that she is trying hard to do what is right and to be a better person.

4. She always, always, always gives me a hug and kiss before she goes to bed, always without fail. If she forgets before she gets into bed then she will get out of bed and come hunt me down so that she can give me a hug and kiss and tell me that she loves me. Sometimes it might be annoying especially if I am in a bad mood but I love that she does it and I hope that she never gets too old to show me affection.

5. She is a beautiful girl and I love to see how she is growing up. I am happy that she feels comfortable to ask me questions and comes to me with her concerns. We have already had some pretty great talks about all things girlie! She can be really fun to be around and I know that we will be great friends as she gets older.
