Zoo Field Trip With Rylee

I volunteered to go on the Field Trip to the zoo with Rylees class. Because we had so many parents volunteer each parent only had to be in charge of their child plus one extra. I call that good luck! So I got Rylee and Tevin. Tevin is a boy who lives around the corner from us and I drive him home every day so it was kind of expected for him to be with me. I was only able to get a few pictures but that is OK. It was a short field trip, we only had about an hour in the zoo, which was the perfect length of time for me. Rylee was smart and brought along a baggie with crackers for a snack and once Tevin saw her food he could not stop talking about how hungry he was. We shared her crackers but the kid was on an "I'm hungry" roll, he seriously would not quit. So when we were done touring the Zoo I went ahead and bought them each an ice cream. Quite nice and generous of me I am sure. Wouldn't you know after they ate their delicious ice cream they spotted some other kids eating popcorn and started moaning about how they wished they had popcorn to eat. Too bad some mean lady bought them ice cream instead of popcorn, whatever. ;o)

Oh and as you can see Rylees tie dye shirt turned out awesome!!

Yes I also bought the two stinkers food to feed the goats.

Dance Recitals

I found Avynlea practicing her piano one day with a little company from a friend. I thought it was pretty cute!

We had Dance recitals and these are only a couple behind the scenes pictures. I had planned on doing Avy's hair like I did it for pictures but she came home from school with a different idea. I was irritated at first because I don't like it when I plan things out in my head and they get changed but I jumped on board and thought it turned out adorable!

Rylee was excited all day long and kept asking if it was time to leave. When we finally got there she had a hard time waiting for her performance to start and was very jumpy and hyper.
Our dance recital was on thursday and all of my girls did amazing. They had a lot of fun and it is always so exciting to see them onstage enjoying what they are doing!

On Friday and Saturday I had recital for the girls I teach at The Dance Connection. This was super nerve wracking for me because I wanted them to perform well. Once I realized that no matter what they do they will be cute on stage I calmed down a little. I was able to get pictures of most of my dancers after their performances. I wasn't able to do that last year so I am happy I remembered and did it this year. I am missing a couple of girls who left before final bows but that is ok. Our theme this year was "Favorite Things" and each class danced to songs that represent some of their favorite things. Because we have so many classes and students our recitals are broken up to 5 recitals, 1 on Friday and 4 on Saturday. I had three classes in the 9:30 recital and one class in the 12:00 recital which is why two different classes dance to the same music. makes it a whole lot easier to have 10-11 dances we use throughout the recitals rather then choreographing 40 different dances. I teach five classes and had two smaller classes combined so thats why there are only four groups.
Noora, Taylor, Baby Taylor, Isabella, Bella, Emma, Peri and Emma  (Premier class dancing to Friendship Boogie and Friendship Grows like a flower)
Arabella, Sadie, Addison, Deanna, Carly, Finley and Arika not pictured are Tinsley and Halia (Bright Beginnings Class Dancing to Happy Birthday and Birthday Wish)
Alysha, Sessily, Lucy, Alyssa, Maya, Mikayla, and Aislin, not pictured are Aaliyah and Mckinnley (Healthy Beginnings class dancing to I put the zing in spring and Springtime)

Danika, Taylor, Madelyn, Sarah, Addy May, Rylee, Brooklyn, Olive and Addison (New Horizon Meridian class and Bearly Grown class dancing to Friendship grows like a flower and Friendship Boogie)

I had a lot of fun teaching and dancing this year but now that our week of recitals are over I am ready for my summer break! I love teaching dance and I love that it gives me something to do with my time. Now that I will have all four kids in school all day long I definitely need something to fill up a little bit of time an this has been perfect for that. Plus it is fun to earn a little bit of money, that is always nice!

Mothers Tea with Avynlea

For Avynleas Activity Days the Day before Mothers Day was our Mothers Tea. It was so fun to hang out with only Avynlea for an hour and we had a lot of fun. On each table was a list of questions for the kids to ask their Moms. I tried to answer the questions the best I could but was stumped on some of them. Like the most embarrassing moment one, I have had so many embarrassing moments but could not really come up with a good one. I think everything I do is probably an embarrassing moment for me or someone else but whatever I answered the other questions. I think it was fun for all of the kids to learn a little bit more about their Moms. Avy thought it was funny that I was not the best student in school. I just liked to talk too much and read. I was always reading a book when I should have been doing something else.

After the questions we got to eat some yummy food. Fruit, breakfast casserole and muffins from Costco, delicious! I am a huge fan of the breakfast casserole and do not get it often enough in my opinion. I need to rectify that immediately.
After the food the girls stood up and sang a song for their Moms. I tried to get a decent shot of Avy but she kept her face covered the entire time, silly girl. After the song they each said something that they love about their Moms. Avy said she that she loves me because I make delicious food. So sweet! they then gave their Moms a flower and in my case a big hug!

Such a fun time with my little Avynlea! She is such a fun loving and sweet girl and I love any time spent with her!

Oh and I also love that I am a girl who likes to take pictures. I am always surprised by the lack of picture taking when I am at things and feel bad for the people who don't take pictures, think of everything they are missing out on, so sad.

Car Rides

One Friday night we got to take our friend Lauren to dace class. Her Mom was on an anniversary tripped planned by her husband so we were in charge of taking her to dance. The car ride went really well it was when we got to the studio and she found a tree to climb in that it got a little tricky. It took Kenedy a good 5 to 10 minutes getting Lauren to climb down from that tree. She is a stubborn little thing. At one point she got stuck and let Kenedy help her down and we were thinking phew lets go dance, but no, she climbed right back up into that tree. Finally she came down and off to dance we went.

Moms and Muffins with Rylee

The Friday before Mothers Day I got to go to Rylee's class for a "Moms and Muffins" party. The first thing we did was wrap T-shirts with rubber bands for their field trip Tie Dye shirts. We did ours in a cool spiral with the bands wrapped around it. The end result was really cool and ours was different from everyone else's.

After I took a picture with my cutie she showed me around the classroom and showed me some of her favorite things to do.
I saw the latest painting project which was really cute. Rylee is pointing to the one she did.
Rylee is constantly coming home with drawings and notes for me and she was happy to show me where all that creativity takes place.
The it was off to the kitchen which is a favorite area for a lot of the kids.

Then I got to see the color counters.

After the tour we got a muffin, some juice and lots of sunshine. We ate our snack outside and then Rylee showed me some of the things she likes to do on the playground.

She got to the third monkey bar and then gave me the face and said she couldn't go any further. So cute and good for her for trying!
I had so much fun hanging out at school with my Rylee and cannot believe how fast she is growing up. Soon she is going to be in first grade and that is crazy to me! We had a really fun day!

Wax Museum

Fourth graders stud Idaho History and since Ryker is a fourth grader this year he is wrapped up in all things pertaining to Idaho History. To celebrate the Idaho knowledge the fourth graders had a choir concert (which I had no idea about until 30 minutes prior, thanks for being on the ball with the notes home Ryker) in which they sang songs having to do with the History of Idaho. It was actually really fun. They performed dances which we got a little video of but no pictures and they played their recorder.

After the music the fourth graders went into the halls and set up for their wax museum. Each of them picked a historic, past or present, famous Idaho figure and were supposed to research them and them prepare a short little spiel about them. They came dressed up as their character and were supposed to be frozen until yo put some money in their cup. The money they earned is used for something fourth grade related I obviously have no idea what. Ryker was Henry Spalding a christian missionary who taught the Navajo Indians. I thought he looked super cute in his cotton ball beard and think he did a great job!

Random fun phone photos

Every once in a while I have to connect my phone to the computer and upload all of the random pictures I took with it so that I can have those in my Blog Book also. The pictures are very random but very fun!
This year I was an assistant dance teacher in Avynlea and Kenedy's dance classes. It gave me something to do the two hours they have class and it helped pay for all of our lessons so who can complain to that! One of my favorite perks of this job was getting to know this special lady.
Her name is Lauren and she is a feisty little sweetie. She is stubborn and tends to spit when she talks, not so appreciated when the talking was done two inches from my face which was how it most always was done. But I really fell in love with this kid. She is so special and really fun to be with. Most classes she would come tell me a "secret " which always was... "Miss Lizbif, you are my Mom and Miss Kim is my Dad". So funny! When I would lead warm-ups she would be right up there with me, most often getting in my way. I love that she gets excited to see me and always runs up to give me a hug. My kids also love her and are always running to be with Lauren when they see her. It will be sad not to see her as much this summer but since her family lives in the next subdivision over, her Mom and I have agreed that we will need to have plenty of play dates!

I have been a bit obsessed with nail polish lately and loving all the different colors. This one is a purple from the Modern Family OPI collection with a pretty glitter on top from the Selena Gomez OPI collection.
I found this cute Easter Bunny craft on Pinterest and decided my nursery kids had to do it. They had fun putting it all together but I am not entirely sure they understood the concept. It was fun to make anyway!

Ryker was in Nyssa with Keffords family for the weekend and so Kefford and I decided to take the girls to Red Robin for dinner one night. I am not sure why we did it, just a whim I think. It was fun being with our girls and hanging out and doing something different.
Rylee went with me to the store to pick up something for Breana for her birthday. While there Rylee really got into the spirit of shopping and decided to put together a little something for herself to wear.

By the time she was through she had to put back a tank top, a bag, a coin purse, a necklace and a bracelet. I think I am going to be in shopping trouble with this one!
I took a picture of Ryker on a rare day in his life. A day where he actually does his homework without complaining. Oh how I wish he were like this every time homework needs to be done!
Rylee had her friend Gretchen with us at the library and I thought it was so cute how Rylee was "reading" to her.
Apparently putting hot oil in a plastic bowl to cool is not the smartest idea ever. Lesson learned!

A random self shot.
One Friday I was having a rougher day and I did not put any make-up on that morning. I thought I looked fine without it and I did not want to bother with it. When I got to the dance class I help teach one of the girls told me I looked different. I explained that I did not have any make-up on and another little girl said "You don't look good without make-up". That super hurt my feelings and so I told her that is not a very nice thing to say and moved away. She came up and said she was sorry and said she was only joking. I told her I forgave her but even joking around it still hurts. I knew she really felt bad because the next day was class pictures day and while there she was super attentive to me and loving. I took this picture on the way home from class that night and I still didn't think I looked bad. When I pulled up into the driveway Kefford came up to my window and as I pulled off my sunglasses I heard him say something about me notwearing any make-up. I thought here we go again and braced myself for what he had to say about the. He surprised me by saying how awesome I looked and that he thinks I look so beautiful without make-up. That made me feel tons better and I love him for that!
When I saw this quote on pinterest it made me think of this little girl.
Speaking of class picture day I put curlers in Avy and Rylees hair that morning so that they could have nice curly hair for pictures. They still had them in when we got to the studio and were a little bit embarrassed about it. I thought they looked cute but took them out quick for them as soon as their hair was dry.

Avy was making super funny faces at herself in the mirror so I pulled out my camera and had her make the faces for me. She didn't do quite as fun a job but still love looking at this face.

And here is Rylee posing for me before getting in front of the camera!

And of course some more shots of me with Lauren.

She got mad about something and went off to pout and I took a picture of it. Not the best quality but that's cool too.
