Week 2 in Quarantine (Chalk drawing, Costco run, Avynlea starts drivers ed, Cake decorating, teddy bear hunt, McKoy comes home)

It has been announced that Quarantine is going to go longer. They are saying that schools are going to stay closed past spring break and all businesses are closed that are non-essentials. Kefford's place of business is an essential so he can still work but our dance studio will remain closed and Kenedy can't work at the YMCA for now because it too is closed. This is getting crazy and grocery stores are still having troubles keeping items on the shelf. Toilet Paper is still a hot commodity but we have a huge pack from Costco so we are good for a while.
On Sunday, March 22, we had our first church service in our home. It was strange to get up and get Sunday dressed and then stay in our home for a church service. Rylee took it upon herself to make a program for our church service and to assign the jobs. She did a really great job except for one thing. Unfortunately we had to burst her bubble and explain why she cannot be the one presiding. We told her if she was the only one here then she could be the one to preside, I really hope that did not plant a devious seed in her mind, LOL.
I am making it a tradition to take a family picture every Sunday until at least we get out of Quarantine, I might like it so much I can see myself making it last longer though :)
Kefford decided to stop shaving until we are out of Quarantine and it will be interesting to watch his beard progression in these weekly Sunday photos.

Later on that day the kids spent some time outside in the back yard doing chalk drawings. It was such a nice and beautiful Sunny day that Kefford and I joined them. Kefford moved Bonnie the bunny's cage back out of the garage and into the backyard. He liked getting him out and holding him for a little bit. Kefford's nickname for Bonnie is Tar Baby or T-baby because of his coloring.

RYlee spent sometime out in the back with her siblings but when she needed a break she was more then happy to come inside and read a book for a while.
The kids did shadow tracings of each other and then Kefford and I had to come out and guess who was who. It was pretty easy to see their personalities in the drawings and to figure out who each one was. It's hard to see the drawings in the picture I took but one can picture the shadow by the pose they are each doing.

Towards evening time we all took a walk around he neighborhood and it was so nice to get out of the house and be able to start doing outside stuff again. I love being with my family and Sunday walks are going to have to start being a tradition again now that the weather is nice again.

I saw this quote on Facebook and thought it was so funny. I sent it to our family group chat asking Maddie, Mallory and Anita if they were doing OK. LOL
On Tuesday AVynlea had another driving lesson and this time I had Rylee with me and while Avynlea was driving we went to Costco and got some things and then headed back to the park to walk while we waited for Avynlea. It was nice to be with just Rylee and we had fun exploring the waling trails we found.
I was able to get  a couple pictures of Avynlea driving and think it is pretty surreal that we are now to this point with her. Avynlea was supposed to have her last driving lesson on Thursday but because of th more strict stay at home order her driving instructor cancelled until further notice. It is so frustrating for Avynlea to have been so close to getting her permit, one more lesson, but now we have to wait until who knows when. So maddening!
After the driving lesson on Tuesday I took Avynlea and Rylee over to Shanelle Hess's house for a cake decorating class. This class was offered this week being Spring Break weeks before the stay at home order and I signed Avynlea and Rylee up because I knew they would love it. Avynlea got her friends Hailey and Dreya to sign up as well and unfortunately Dreya had to cancel last minute because they had to go out of town to see her Grandpa who got really sick. Shanelle kept everything sanitized and had my girls six feet away from the other girls who were taking the class. It turned out to be just my crew and the Pollock girls which I thought was pretty funny. I dropped them off for the class and when I returned two hours later they were not quite finished so I was able to watch and take some pictures.
I was really impressed with the cute cakes they made and they couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was. I am so glad they were able to do this and hope we can have more creative fun for them in the future.

Quite often I will find random selfies Rylee has taken on my phone. I am pretty sure she is sending them to her friends whom she texts quite regularly with my phone. I am glad she has friends she wants to text with but the constant alerts got pretty annoying so I put their chat group on sleep mode. We still see the text messages coming in but the phone is not constantly alerting me which is better.
Since tumbling was one of the businesses deemed non-essential Kaeleigh is doing at home zoom classes with her athletes. I am so glad Avynlea is still able to have something to do every day to help her become a stronger athlete. She has an hour of conditioning every morning which Kenedy does with her and then in the evenings she has a flexibility class, a jump class and a drills class each on a different night. Avynlea is dedicated to her schedule and so far has been doing every class. She has been sore but I can see more strength in her and she can definitely feel a difference.
I took these pictures Wednesday morning during their conditioning class, Kenedy wasn't thrilled that I was taking pictures but I felt the need to document so it has to happen ;)
I heard about neighborhoods doing bear hunts and thought it sounded like a fun thing to do and put the idea out on our Bainbridge Babes group chat. You put bears in the windows of your houses and then kids going on walks with their Moms can be entertained by finding the bears. Initially Rylee and I put bears in her window and in the window by our front door but because the glass has a slight tint the bears could not be seen. We fixed this by putting the big bear in Ryker's pickup and the little medical bear I put on the table on our front porch. The medical bear Ryker got when he was in the hospital after his skull got cracked open. I thought it was fitting to use him since he has a surgical mask and more and more people are starting to wear one to protect against Covid-19
Because of the China virus all missionaries who have been out 21 months are being sent home, plus all foreign missionaries are being sent home regardless of how long they have been sent out to quarantine for two weeks at home with their family and then depending on how long they have been out will with be reassigned to a mission in state or will stay home and be released. Kenedy's bestie McKoy was being sent home because he reached the 21 month mark. Kenedy and I went over to his house to sign the welcome home banner his family made and while we were there his family saw us and came out to visit with us  while social distancing at 6 feet apart.
McKoy's mom invited Kenedy to go to the airport with them to pick him up which I was not crazy about, we have this social distancing ban for a reason and I knew Kenedy would not stay 6 feet apart from them at the airport. She went anyway and sent me a picture of her with her best friend. I sent the picture to Ashleigh because ever since meeting him at her graduation they have been pro McKoy and Kenedy being an item. Kenedy has no interest in him other then a really good friend but the Brown's can hope :)
On Thursday I was filming more dance videos and instead of pushing the record button I pushed to take a picture.
More scriptures that I have loved and highlighted. I know when Heavenly Father tells us something that we can trust Him because these scriptures tells us that He knows all things and that he cannot lie. I have had some promptings that i have struggled with because all I can see is how impossible it would be for what I felt to happen but I am working on having Faith in my Heavenly Father and to remember that he knows all and definitely knows the endgame.

Week 1 in Quarantine (leaving Utah, St Patricks Day, Youtube dancing, Kids in Nyssa, Rylee's room makeover)

Sunday morning, March 15th, we got up, packed up our stuff and then took the sacrament with Dustin's family. It was different partaking in the ordinance at home but I really likes it. Ryker and Dustin blessed and passed the sacrament and it was pretty neat. I liked being there with his family and being able to have this time with them. Our Bishop said that we could do the sacrament at home if we had a worthy priesthood holder there to do it. Not all wards had that directive and I am glad that ours did as well as Dustin's so that we could do it. After we did that we headed out, we stopped off at Brian Pratt's, Kefford's Cousin,  to see him and his family for a little bit and then we headed home.
Sara, Audrey, Dustin, Sophie, Rylee, Evie, Ryker, Kenedy, Isabelle, Charlotte, Kefford, Elizabeth and Avynlea
I came across this scripture and at the time it really spoke to me so I highlighted it and took a screenshot
St Patrick's day was on Tuesday and I made green muffins and left out Lucky Charms cereal and marshmallows along with some chocolate gold coins. For dinner, which I did not get a picture of, we had corned beef, watergate salad, potatoes and rolls. It was a very delicious dinner.
I recorded a bunch of videos to send out to my dancers in the studio and I had a couple of parents send me pictures of their kids dancing with my videos. It made me happy to see that they were enjoying what I was putting out and I really loved seeing their faces!

The kids wanted to spend a couple days out on the farm. We were in Quarantine but it was ok to gather in very small groups and I thought being with family was definitely ok. Avynlea, Rylee and Ryker went out there for a couple of days, Kenedy had to work which is why she stayed behind. On Friday the rest of us went out there and it was fun to see Whitney and her kids who had come over fora little bit.
Kinsley was extremely obsessed with Ryker for a while and would not leave him alone. It was pretty cute to see their interactions and even though Ryker acted like he was annoyed I know he really liked it.
He kept pushing her away until finally he gave in and let her cuddle up on his lap. Her face says it all with how happy she was. It really was so cute!

While they were all gone I had received the gold dots in the mail that I had ordered for Rylee for her birthday. I was planning on putting them up on her wall for her birthday but didn't have time and so Kefford and Kenedy helped me put them up while she was gone. It looked so cute and when she came home and saw it she was super surprised and happy.
We had to come back from the farm on Saturday because Avynlea had her first driving lesson. It was a two hour drive but it was in Boise so I couldn't go home while she drove. I had to hang out there at the park. I brought a book but Was so tired that I slept for a lot of the wait time.
When Avynlea got done and on our way home I asked her how it was. She said she likes driving but she doesn't like her instructor she said she spent the entire time telling her what she was doing wrong and it was frustrating. I can understand that, we all need positiveness to counter balance the negativity and if we are not getting that I can see how it would not be a fun time.

Happy Birthday Rylee!

Rylee is 13! For all of Elementary school Rylee was at a modified calendar school and was always on track break for her birthday. Last year her birthday was on the weekend and Rylee was so excited that this year for the first year she would get to be in school for her birthday. Fast forward to the weekend before her birthday when it the school closures were announced starting on March 16th, Rylee's birthday. So close, yet so far, poor Rylee.
I made blueberry muffins for her breakfast and put up a little sign. I had to go into the studio that morning to film a bunch of dance videos and was worried i wouldn't get to see her before I left. Luckily she didn't sleep in and I got to wish her a Happy Birthday.
She is so cute in the morning!
For dinner Rylee wanted spaghetti and meatballs and a green salad. She is super easy to please and loves her spaghetti and meatballs! She is a lucky girl that she got to eat her breakfast on one special plate and her dinner on our other special plate.

Rylee got candy, gummy worms and skittles,  and money from her Grandma Bonnie and Kenedy bought her metal reusable straws.
She was super excited when she opened up her new DS game...Minecraft! Rylee loves playing cube life island survival on the Nintendo which is a more generic Minecraft. I think she is so happy to now have the actual game to play on her DS
She also got a Jasmine Wet Brush, calligraphy practice book, calligraphy pens, a volleyball, and a Pineapple towel.
Rylee requested an Oreo cake for her birthday and that is what she got. I baked whole Oreos in the cake then crumbled broken Oreos on top of the frosting...it was chock full of Oreos

Rylee is my last kid become a teenager and it is crazy to think that she is this old. Stay young Rylee, stay young!

5 Things I love about Rylee
  1. Rylee loves giving gifts and she loves picking out and paying for those gifts herself. She is kind and generous and really loves to shop for people. I love that every Christmas she wants me to take her to the Dollar store so she can buy gifts for us all. She likes to give gifts but she also likes to be frugal ;) She loves buying gifts for her siblings for their birthdays and is very thoughtful about it and picks things she knows they will like. She is also always super excited to buy gifts for Kefford and I for our birthdays and for Mothers Day and Fathers Day. I love her generous spirit.
  2. Rylee had the goal to earn her Young Womens Medallian before the end of 2019 and she crushed it! I am so proud of her for wanting to make that goal and for understanding the importance of why she did it. She worked hard all year and was able to earn the medallion way before the end of the 2019. It took her less then a year to accomplish this and that is impressive!
  3. I love how creative Rylee is. She hand draws cards and they always look like she copied them but she never does, she is just that good. She is also learning to do calligraphy and can write our names in a really fancy and cool way. I am just amazed with her creativity talent and wish I could be as cool as she is.
  4. Rylee has such a funny personality and is constantly coming up with one liners that crack us up. I love the goofy side of her, the excitement that just bursts out of her when she is really happy about something. She makes funny faces and has these funny bursts of energy where she is swinging herself around crazy that is just funny to watch. She is such a comedian and brings so much fun into the house!
  5. I love how thankful Rylee is. She is usually the first to thank me for dinner or thank me when I do something for all of them. She remembers to show gratitude and it helps me to want to do more for her because I know how appreciative she is. I love the notes she writes telling me thank you for something and I am so glad she does that because I cherish each and every one of them. She is such a good example to the rest of us for showing gratitude!

Covid-19

On Saturday we went back to American Fork and the girls and I went with my sisters to a craft fair that was going on. They had a lot of fun stuff and it was fun to walk around and look at all of the crafts while visiting with my sisters. For the rest of the day we sat around and visited with each other talking and playing games. It was nice to just hang out and be with my family, something that does not happen very often.
We spent  a lot of time talking about Covid-19 the corona virus that came from China and was now hitting the United States pretty hard. I have been hearing about this flu since January but it wasn't a big deal to me because at the time it was only affecting China and then Italy. They were shut down but now it was in the USA and we were watching as America started shutting down. While we sat there all of our school districts started announcing school closures. It was a surreal situation and I could not believe this was going on.
WestAda, our school district, was planning on staying open even though everything else was shutting down. I was ok with it and was planning on having my kids still go to school on Monday although I knew a lot of parents were not going to let their kids. I just didn't see it as that big of a deal. But later that evening I got another email saying that due to concerns from parents and staff that our school district was shut down until the end of spring break. Spring break is March 23rd to the 27th and hopefully by then this will be all figured out and we can get back to normal. For now though we are in Quarantine.
I would not be too worried about it except that also church is now shut down. I am so amazed with our Prophet and how in tune he is. We have been taught and been trained for home center church and now here we are having to do it at least for the next couple of weeks. In addition to school closures and church closures, Temples are closed for all proxy ordinances which really makes me sad. I don't know what I am going to do without my weekly Temple attendance. Our dance studio is closed and I am sad about that also, I am going to have to record my dances and send them out to all of my kids.

Also I feel it needs to be recorded that people have been going crazy and buying out all the food and of all things Toilet paper. Not sure why TP is on the hit list but that stuff is becoming impossible to find. Grocery stores were also selling out of a ton of stuff. I had a running grocery order on my walmart pickup app and throughout the day I watched all of the items I was hoping to get on Monday sell out. People are nuts!

When it was time for all of us to part ways we took a group picture and then Kefford and I and our kids headed back to Dustin's house to spend a little bit of time with them.
standing row: Andrew and Maddie, Avynlea, Ryker, Ben, Stephanie, Joshua, Amos, Isabelle, Matt and Emily and Mom
Kneeling row: Camry, Alyssa, Heather, Kenedy. Elizabeth, Ashleigh, Mallory, Fredrick and Rylee
I am not sure where Kefford was, he might have been at the store at this time.

Anthony took the group picture so then he took a selfie with all of us in the back so he could be in on the picture fun.

Dancing and More Family Pictures

Breana wanted a chocolate fountain instead of a cake at her reception something I guess her Mom and Grandma tried talking her out of. They told her how messy and gross chocolate fountains could get but she insisted and it was her wedding. Once it was all set up it was melting the chocolate pretty good and working great but then something went wrong and halfway through the reception the top part of the fountain slipped free and started spinning chocolate everywhere. It made a mess all over the table, on the wall, on the floor and on Matt and Madi who were standing by it. I mean really all you could do was laugh and help clean up. Which I did after taking a few pictures for posterity :) After that point we left it turned off and turned it into a dipping station.
By the time we had it all cleaned up it was time to watch Breana and Ben cut their cake and then the dancing began. I was dancing with Kefford but managed to get pictures of my kids dancing with each other and then with Atticus. How cute are they :)

I got a picture with Breana before she left for her Honeymoon
I also got a picture of Ryker and Ben doing what they do best...nothing
Kefford got bored and had Avynlea take some special pictures of him, he is such a goof
Kenedy and Alyssa got their Cousin picture
And Rylee got some pictures of herself being a goof
I thought these pictures of Avynlea and Kenedy were really cute. It is always a surprise to look at the pictures in my phone at the end of an event and see all the ones that were taken without me knowing about it.
At the end of the night we had all the Cousins get together for a picture. Breana had left by then and Joshua and Mallory had left taking Amos and Fredrick with them so they were missed.
Back row: Dillon, Kenedy, Isabelle, Avynlea, Ryker and Atticus
