Bit of Randomness

Kefford took these two pictures out of our upstairs bedroom window. Not sure what they were up to but they looked cute and were having fun entertaining themselves!

Rylee and her Mama

Ryker went to Boy Scout day Camp and this gargoyle made out of clay was one of the projects he brought home. There really was no use for it and he said he did not care to keep it around so I took a picture for posterity and placed it nicely in the garbage.

Idaho Falls Temple

On the way home from Rexburg we stopped off at the Idaho Falls Temple to take some pictures. I made the comment that it would be cool next time to go through this Temple because I have never been inside. But Kefford said that I have been, while we were going to school at Ricks he said that we went and did Baptisms for the dead. I have absolutely no recolection of that but I trust him. So next time I would like to do a session in this Temple!

Rexburg Tripping

The Boise Temple is still in renovations and the twin Falls Temple was closed for cleaning so Kefford and I took a quick overnight trip to the Rexburg Temple and to see my super cute Niece Breana. Unfortunately we did not get any pictures of Breana. Man we were lame, now I know Breana is fine with that because she hates having her picture taken but I could have and should have gotten at least one with her in it. I am a bad Aunt.
Nonetheless, moving on, when we got to Rexburg as soon as we were coming off the freeway we could see the Temple. It was crazy how you could see it from any point in town. Kefford and I have not been to Rexburg since Ryker was almost two, about 12 or so years and so we were amazed by how much it has changed. So we checked into our Hotel room, changed into our dressy clothes and headed off to do a session in the temple. It is a beautiful temple and I am so jealous of all the college kids who can go and do Baptisms and be around and see this beautiful temple all the time, they are so lucky! So we did our session and then walked around the Temple and took pictures!
Who is that beautiful model that got caught in the picture?
Oh it's me! Hehehehe
A view of Rexburg and the BYU-I campus from the Temple grounds.
After the Temple we changed and headed out to see Breana. I mentioned to Kefford as we were leaving the Temple and heading back to our Hotel room on the other side of town that it would have been funny if Breanas apartment was right next to the Temple. Sure enough when she texted me where she was it was the apartment buildings right next to the Temple. Hahaha. So we picked her up and decided we were going to go see the movie "Brave" and get some food. We decided on the showing that was starting in about 20 minutes so we really did not have time to eat. But I was starving and did not want to wait so we bought our tickets and then went to the Cafe Rio right across the parking lot from the theater and got our food. We ordered it to go and somehow were able to walk right into the theater with our big bag a of food! Nobody was around to pay attention or even care. Nice for us, dinner and a movie!
After the movie Breana took us around the campus so we could see all of the changes and boy were there a lot of changes. I really did not recognize much of the old Ricks College. Kind of made me sad but change is inevitable so I got over it, kind of. ;O)
I tried getting my picture taken in front of this cool water fountain rock area but right when I got on the rock the sprinklers turned on...not cool.
Of course I had to go to the Kirkham building, my old dance haunting grounds. So much of my time was spent in the building. It hadn't changed too much just the front lobby was different. Gone were the couches that I would sleep on between my two hour break dance classes.
But the auditorium where I took tap and clogging was the same so Kefford took my picture on the stage for me.

We had a lot of fun visiting Breana and seeing Rexburg again. We are hoping that we can make another trip down there again sometime sooner then 12 years.

Cherries, Cherries, Cherries!

It was cherry picking season in Emmett and I was ready to go get me some. IWe had done it years ago when Avy was olittle and it was high time we started up again. So I talked to Brit, had her find a place, set a date and off we went. Cherry picking with family, so fun!

The day before Kefford was jumping on the trampoline with the kids when somehow he landed on Avynleas ankle and all present heard a loud pop. We were all so worried that a bone was broken but we didn't see any evidence of a break and she could walk kindof limp on it so we wrapped it and told her to stay off of it. Well going cherry picking was not going to be all that great for her but once we got there I sat her down with a bucket and told her to  pick and not move. Of course she moved, she is 7 and wants to be with her cousins, but she did fine and after a day or so she could walk normal and all was well. Who knows what that pop was but we are so glad it wasn't anything more serious!
Rylee was given a bucket and she did not do the best job of picking the red cherries. We wanted dark red and what we got from her were a lot of yellow. She was too busy having fun to pay attention or follow directions, also she is 5 and so we gave her a break. We also made sure to pick out what she was putting in. :o)
Told ya! Cannot keep Avynlea down!
Kefford did a good job finding the dark red ones to put in the bucket he was quite the pro!
In addition to Kelsey and Brit and their kids we invited Keffords cousin Roland to come with us and His cousin Jared, Brittney and their kids. Roland drove with us so he got some good cherry picking time with us but Jared couldn't get away from a family thing in time, got stuck in construction and thus arrived just as we were done. Darn! We stayed a couple of minutes to help them fill their bowls and then had to go.
Everyone had fun picking cherries for the buckets and picking cherries to eat. The next day I bought a Cherry pitter and got to work pitting those cherries. We ended up with two gallon sized bags full for the freezer to use at some point and so I was a happy gal. I did find a little worm crawling out of one of the cherries, after throwing the whole thing outside I started wondering how many of us ate worm cherries without even knowing it. Egh!

Emmett Cherry Festival

I don't know if I have ever posted a picture of my cool shoes but here they are. Kefford helped me design them myself online and I love them. I wanted shoes that were bright and girlie and that is exactly what I got. WooHoo!!
So the Emmett Cherry Festival was coming up and Kefford and Kelsy were busy with work and with getting a parade float ready. Brit and I found out about a 2 mile fun run and we decided it would be fun to do it. I have decided that I kind of enjoy running and i was excited to do a little race, gotta start out small ya know.
I told Brit we needed to wear matching shirts and that they really should be Peterson Orthodontics shirts, nothing like free advertising from two cute girls!
So on our way to the run we figured out that Brit and I got our wires crossed. I thought she registered both of us and she thought we were registering ourselves. Needless to say I was not registered. Luckily it was only five bucks extra unluckily they did not have enough hats. Not cool at all! I kind of hung around the registration booth and when I heard one lady say to the other that a couple of registered racers were not coming I quickly jumped in and asked if I could have their hat. So yay I got a hat! It may sound silly but I paid my dues and I wanted a fun hat to show that I was and had been a part of things. Once I put that hat on I felt like part of the cool club!

Kefford and Kelsey took a couple of minutes away from their float designing to cheer us on at the end and take some pictures. Thank you Kefford!!
Here I am trying to cool down.
It was only a two mile run but I am pretty dang proud of myself especially coming from someone who never thought she could do one mile let alone two. It was tough and Brit and I ran our hardest. I was not paying attention to the time at the end but someone was saying it was about 17 minutes which I think is awesome! That means I was running alot faster then I do on the treadmill and it makes since as to why I felt like I was dying at the end!
I am definitely going to be going more races and who knows what I can accomplish, this is only the beginning!!!
The race was in the morning and after a long day of watching kids and cutting strawberries for the freezer it was finally time to take the kids to the parade. Kefford and Kelsey set our chairs up for us so all we had to do was show up. We got there settled in and the parade started, lucky us!
The Peterson Orthodontics float looked good and while most people handed out cheapo candy PO handed out mini water bottles, definitely much needed on this hot day! Kefford drove Uncle Alans pickup, Kelsey handed out Balloons Kenedy and Ryker got to help hand out the water!
Good day!
