Oregon Coast Day 2 Tillamook

Monday morning we all got ready, loaded up into the SUV's and headed to Tillamook to explore the cheese factory. It was about a 45 minute drive and when we got there we first spotted the Baby Loaf bus. The kids all did their best to pile in so that we could get some pictures.

Love the scenic cutouts everywhere so we can have more reasons to take pictures.
Anybody who asked Audrey who her favorite cousin is always got the same answer...Ryker! She adores him and he loves her. I had such joy watching these two buddies tour the factory together.
The tour was a self guided tour and it was over pretty quickly. Afterwards we got to taste the cheese samples, have a fudge sample and then we bought some ice-cream cones. I got the mango sorbet and it was delicious!

After we left the factory our car and Jeremy's car stopped at McDonalds for some lunch and then we headed down the scenic highway looking for place to stop and explore. We first found a fish hatchery and the kids got to feed a pond filled with rainbow trout. When the food was first being thrown in we did not see much happening and wondered if this pond even had any fish. But pretty quickly we saw things atert to happen and once word got out that there was food we started to see lots of splashing and trout sliding through the water. It was pretty fun.
We then went inside to see where they keep the little fish until they are grown big enough to be clipped and let loose into the wild. The kids got to feed these baby fish.

We also stopped at Cape Lookout. The kids were walking through the muddy grass when they discovered a part that had been usher up because of all the water and mud. These monkeys had a lot of fun stomping on t to make the mud gurgle out.

The Oregon coast has such beautiful scenery and sights, I can see why people would be drawn to live here. I think it is so cool seeing the deep green forest covered mountains right next to the beautiful ocean. It is an amazing picture.
