Mexico Cruise Day 2: Catalina Island

Tuesday morning we were docked at Catalina Island, an island off the coast of California. I have never been to Catalina Island despite growing up in California and I was excited to see it. We got off the ship onto a smaller boat and were taken over to the Docks where we disembarked to explore the Island. I was really hoping for warm weather and was thinking there might be an opportunity to go swimming on this trip so I wore my bathing suit under my dress. Unfortunately it was not swimming weather, the temperature was not where I was hoping it would be, bummer. But the Island was beautiful and it was fun to walk around and explore a little bit. Catalina in my eyes was a quaint little coastal town that reminded me of some of the Alaska towns we saw on the Alaska Cruise we went on a few years back. The houses and town were nestled up into the mountains and was very picturesque and pretty. I really loved it!

We spotted a clock tower set up high on the mountains and decided it didn't look to far and we should hike up to it so we could check out the view.
It was a fairly easy hike, I was wearing flip flops so that should tell you how not hard the hike was, and the views up top were so pretty, definitely worth the hike.

Ryker thought he would be funny and mess around with the cactus. He ended up getting tiny cactus needles in his hand that he then had to work on to remove. He might have been regretting his messing with the cactus decision at that point.
We found this hanging monkey yard decor that some said was Avynlea and we took a picture of Rylee with it.
After the hike up we walked down and looked in the shops and explored Main Street. Rylee got a necklace and bracelets for her friends and I was able to find a tiny Catalina Island snow globe for my collection.

We wandered into the lobby of a small hotel and found a gingerbread ship they had on display, it was a fun variation of a gingerbread house.

There was not much else to see or do on the Island and so after a few short hours we loaded back onto the boat to take us back to the ship.
We found that room service had been in and tidied our room and they left a cute towel bunny on the bed.
We got back in time to do some archery which was fun but short lived, there was a line so we had to move through quick.
On board they had a giant Christmas Tree and while we were waiting for our dinner time we stopped for some pictures and then played a little foosball.

Dinner time was great, the food was always delicious and I love how well the waitstaff treats us, like royalty, at least how I assume how royalty is treated.
