Kefford had some time off from work right before Christmas and we decided to do a family cruise to Mexico. The only one it would be a problem for would be Rylee since the dates would be the last week of school for her which meant finals.mSince we knew and planned for it well in advance she was able to keep up in her classes and every teacher was very nice and let her take her final a week early. It was a stressful week for Rylee with all the tests she had to study for and take but then she was able to relax and be on vacation the week that the rest of her classmates were taking their finals.
Ryker, Kefford, Rylee and I flew into LA Monday morning and we were picked up at the airport by Tyler and Kenedy who drove down early to spend some time with Ty's family. His cousin was in the car and would take the car back to his house which was super nice of him. Once we got to the port we had a long line to wait in but it surprisingly went pretty quick and we got on board the ship easy peasy. Our rooms were not ready yet and we were starving so as soon as we boarded we headed to the buffet to get some lunch.
After eating we still did not get the all clear that our rooms were ready so we walked around and explored the ship. The guys found a ping pong table that they had fun using, I was exhausted from not sleeping well the night before and getting up so early for travel that while they played I laid down on one of the lounge chairs and fell asleep. My nap did not last super long but it was nice and relaxing.
The view from the ship was really pretty at sunset and we tried to get a good picture with it.
Getting everyone to cooperate for a picture is an exercise in extreme patience
Our dinner time was 5:00 every night and while we were waiting for our time we found the game room and spent some time playing trivial pursuit. Rylee took the opportunity to take her own little nap and as uncomfortable as she looks I think she got a good little nap in.
After dinner we went to the ice skating rink to watch a dancing on ice show. It was honestly really good and entertaining. We all enjoyed it a lot.
After the show I was exhausted and Kefford and I went back to our room to go to bed, while the kids went to the hot tub's. We got a room with a balcony for us and had Kenedy and Ty in an inside room and Rylee and Rylee shared another inside room. We were able to get rooms all on the same floor not too far down from each other. Because Kefford and I had the bigger room with the balcony it became the meetup/hangout spot for everyone when we had down time which I liked.
