Scheel's take 2 and Voting

After being at Scheels that week and seeing how inexpensive it was to ride the Ferris wheel I thought it would be a fun Young Women activity. I originally thought that the girls could dress in their Halloween costumes and ride the Ferris wheel but while they liked the idea of the Ferris wheel, wearing a costume was not something they were thrilled about. I should have known that 14 year old girls would not want to dress up and that was ok, I told them we were not going to do that but we would go to Scheels and just ride the Ferris wheel.
After my experience on the ride with Kefford I was not about to go on it again but Erica and Layne talked me into it and I decided I could be brave and get on the ride. It was a little bit better this time around because Layne and Erica did a better job of holding still thus the car we were in did not rock like when I went on with Kefford.

The guy at the door who we asked to buy tokens from for the ride gave them to us for free which was super nice. The ride only costs a dollar but it was still nice of them to give us all the ride for free. Once we were done we took some pictures at the picture spot and then I let the girls go into the candy store and gave them each a $3 budget to get some candy. It was a fun night and I enjoyed being with the girls.

On Halloween I went to the city hall and cast my ballot for the 2025 Presidential election. I decided to do it early rather then wait for Election Day because ei thought it would go quicker and not be as busy. The line was pretty long but it moved really fast and I felt I did not waste my time going early. Walking out with my I voted sticker made me really happy and I was really proud to have gone in and voted for Donald Trump to be our 47th President. I am nervous for how the election will go but I trust in my Heavenly Father and I feel really good about where I cast my vote.

Halloween Dance

Avynlea has been having some struggles on her mission, she has been doubting herself and feeling like she isn't doing as much as she should be. I happened upon this quote from Hank Smith who always has great things to say and thought it was perfect for Avynlea to hear. I took a screenshot and sent it to her and hope that she can believe the words he is saying.

Dance class was fun the week of Halloween. I always tell my parents that they can dress up in their Halloween costumes and I typically have most dress up with one or two not doing it. This year was my first year having someone dress up as a soccer ball, she was adorable and I have had more girls dress up as princesses this year then ever before. It was a lot of fun to see them in their costumes and we had a lot of fun dancing to spooky music. I threw something together last minute because while I always dress up along with my kids this year I could not come up with any ideas. I finally decided to pull out a pink skirt I made years ago and I borrowed a leotard from the studio and bought some ballet pink tights from the studio as well. I put my hair in a bun and found a hairpiece that I could manipulate into looking like a crown and I was a ballerina.

I took the picture about 15 minutes into class thinking everyone was there but a little bit after we got the picture hazel rolled in so I took a quick snap of them all sitting on their spots to include her in it. She is wearing the purple outfit in the second row towards the end.
I have an assistant this year in my tiny stars class because I started the year off with 14 and a couple on the waitlist and Melissa felt I needed an assistant with so many kids. I have since moved some up to my Kinderstars class so I don't have quite as many but I do have 12, two were missing this day, and it is nice to have another person in the room helping with crowd control and getting things set up.

Sunday was the Primary program at church and one of the few Sundays a year that Kefford gets to sit with us. Rylee snapped this picture of Kefford making his way off the stand to come sit with us in the audience.

Sister Peterson Week 34

Hi everyone!!

🚞On Tuesday we got told if we were transferring or not! Guess what?!? I get to stay in Gokiso!! I anticipate this will be my last transfer here because typically missionaries stay in 1 area for not much more than 3 transfers, but we will see what happens in the future!

🥷On Tuesday we got to go to institute with our friend and did a Tae Kwondo activity! I swear I am going to come home as a Samurai Ninja.

🎃We also had a little Halloween party on Friday at institute too which was fun! I got my cheeks painted us pumpkins hehe.

🏐We found some high schoolers playing volleyball in a park and joined them. It was really fun. Haha

💤The season is changing and outside is my perfect temperature! Where you can get away with a short sleeve or a long sleeve. It is so nice. Unfortunately with the season change comes exhaustion. I am so tired all the time, it's killing me. I promise I am going to bed and waking up on time!! I just cannot make it through the day without a 15 minute nap during lunchtime!

😚That is really all I have for you this week. We have been busy, everything is kind of blurring into one. This week we are going to do a Halloween party for our English class which I am excited about!

👼Okay the scripture I have been lovingg these past couple days is Alma 18:32

32 And Ammon said: Yea, and he looketh down upon all the children of men; and he knows all the thoughts and intents of the heart; for by his hand were they all created from the beginning.

I get to teach people everyday about God our loving Heavenly Father, and us being his children. I think it is so powerful to not only know that he created us, but because of that, he knows us perfectly. He is always watching over us and cheering us on. If nothing else gives you courage, please let that.
God loves you.
I love you!
Make it a good week!

Scheels

Keffoed and I went to Schools so he could look at the guns. While we were there I suggested we go on the giant Ferris wheel they have in the store. The only Ferris wheel I have been on that I can remember is the one at Disneyland and it is one that has enclosed cars to sit in. I thought it would be fun to go on the Schools one and it only cost a dollar per person so Kefford went on it with me. As soon as we got to the top and stopped so they could take someone off I was terrified. The car we were sitting in was very touchy and rocked with any movement. Kefford kept moving around to see around the store and it was making the car rock so violently in my opinion I thought we were going to get knocked backwards. I kept Bellingham to hold still while clutching the bar with everything I had in me and he did his best but I can't blame him for wanting to take in the scenery. I was very happy to get off of the ride onto stable ground and vowed to never get on it again.
We walked around the store and got some pictures with the snowmobile and Kefford found Sasquatch and took a picture to send to our kids.

Sister Peterson Week 33

Happy New week!

🤒I absolutely died on Tuesday. I randomly got really sick and basically slept all day, but on Wednesday we had a lesson in the morning so by God's grace I was okay enough by then. My voice is still a little dead, but I don't have "the fevers" anymore!

😒Also I keep getting in trouble because I keep saying "like" when I am speaking Japanese. It's really bad. 2 different elders have already told me I should not do that. ITS A HARD HABIT TO BREAK!

🕊BAPTISM #3 WHATTTT WOOP WOOP!
Our friend Yagisan was baptized and it was amazing! Everything went super smoothly and she seemed very happy. My and my companion sang in the program while Elder Spillet played the violin and it is another miracle my voice did not crack during the song. Because remember, she is still recovering!

🏰Last Pday we went to the Nagoya Castle and it was so cool! Unfortunatly we can't go in the big castle due to construction things, but there was this other building we went in with all the history and stuff in it. It was super cool! The artwork was beautiful!

🎃Japan does not celebrate Halloween like we do in America, but everyone knows what it is and some people still decorate for it! Our ward threw a halloween party for the kids and it was so fun! We taught them how to say "trick or treat" and the way they all pronounce it is "tooricko treato" haha so cute!

❤Japan Tips!!❤
- For some reason, Shawn the Sheep and Lotso are kind of popular. You know, Lotso the bear from Toy Story.
- I was asked again what my blood type was, people love to know that information for some reason. They think it has to do with personalities.
- In front of a lot of restaurants or to show what food looks like, they have really real looking representations. It took me a long time to realize that it was fake food.
❤Thats all!❤

🐻I recently have been loving the word Brave. I feel like it is such a powerful word. I think if we want to get anywhere in life we need to be brave. Take those first steps and be brave enough to keep going even if you cannot see the end goal. To be brave enough to choose to trust in something we cannot fully understand. Brave enough to say the words that seem scary to say.  As a missionary it is almost required to be brave very day. It is hard, but so important.
I love you all!
God loves you!
Make it a good week!
BE BRAVE

11th annual Peterson Halloween Party

We had quite the turnout for our Peterson Halloween Party. I made it on a weekend that Ryker and Anna would be here and I made it a lunchtime event rather then dinner so that Bob and Alison could be here as well. With their temple schedule it makes scheduling a little trickier but this week they were working the evening shift so making the party start at 11am gave them time to be here with all of us before they needed to go. We also had Mikell and her family come from Montana and Dustin and his family came from Utah. It was fun to see those that we normally do not see but it also made it a little bit more of a chaotic event. We were able to get a bounce house again which was a big hit. There was never a moment where it was empty, ok when we made the kids take the group picture it was empty but other then that kids were swarming in and out of the bounce house throughout the entire party. Whitney and I had some fun inside jumping over the obstacles and she took some pretty great action shots of me trying and failing to get the jump.

For lunch we had different soups and bread,  cut up apples with a caramel dip and Mikell brought puppy chow Chex mix and Rice Krispie treats. I had each family bring a bag of candy and I put the older kids upstairs in rooms so the younger kids could "trick-or-treat". We had Rylee and Qiana, Ryker and Anna, Asher and Brooke and Isabelle and Madison all take a room to pass out candy. It was Brooke, Madison and Isabelle's first time being with the older group passing out candy and I think they really liked being a part of that.
We managed to get the kids all together for a picture and looking at the photo now I realize we should have broke tradition and taken it in a different spot. With the early afternoon sun it washed everyone out and did not make a very good picture.

It was nice to have Ryker and Anna here and to be able to get to know her a little bit. She handled the crazy really well and was really sweet to everyone.

Later that night we went out to dinner but the table was not quite ready so while we waited we spent some time inside Cratft Warehouse. I have not been inside that store in a long time and it was fun to see all of the cute and crafty things. Rylee found a couple of stuffs that she loved and wanted pictures with.
We picked up Rylee from work to go out to eat and she looked so cute in her apron that they are now required to wear.
Anna, Ryker and Rylee played video games during the day and I would wander up every so often to check in and watch the fun.
