General Conference

For General Conference this time around we took a different approach to try and get our kids to listen better. Kefford bought some treats and labeled each bowl with a different word. The idea was for the kids to be listening and when they heard one of the key words they got one treat from that bowl. This really did help the kids to listen more and I hope as we use this idea each year that the kids will be able to listen and understand more and more.

I really love listening to the speakers and always have my favorites that I look forward to listening to. I am never disappointed and always come away feeling uplifted and ready to be a better person.
Between sessions the kids would go outside and jump on the trampoline to get their wiggles out.

They invented this unique way of using the trampoline and having fun with each other. I love seeing them having fun together and keep each other entertained. Always happy to see them making new memories with each other.

Bill Cosby

On April 4th Kefford and I along with Kelsey Brit went to see Bill Cosby live at the Morrison Center. I was pretty excited for this night because I grew up watching Bill Cosby on the Cosby show and I remember his Jello pudding commercials. I have always thought he was funny and was happy for this night. We started off by going to eat at the Cottonwood Grill. It was really cold in this restaurant and that was not fun but we had great company and once the food came really delicious food to eat. After our meal we walked over to the Morrison Center and settled into our seats. The show, supposed to start at 8:00, started a little late but once Bill came out I was entertained by his stories and laughed a lot. After about 2 hours of his talking I found myself getting really tired and was ready for him to end. I kept thinking that surly this was his last story but this man has some serious stamina and kept going! Finally at 10:45ish we all agreed that we needed to head out and quietly snuck out. I have no idea how long his show ended up being but we were not the only ones to sneak out. Starting at about the 10:00 mark small groups of people were leaving and we finally followed suit. We all had a fun night together and I hope we can do things together more often.

Family Home Evening

For our Family Home Evening lesson Avynlea took an idea she found from the friend. SHe talked to us about what it means to be a sealed family. We talked about the Temple and the difference between a Temple wedding and a Church wedding. After we had our discussion she brought out some yarn and we used different colors and braided them together to help us remember the sealing power and that becasue of it we are bound together just like the braided yarn. Ryker and Rylee put theirs on as a bracelet, Kenedy put hers on her ankle, Avy tied hers on her backpack, Kefford put his in his pick-up and I use mine as a book mark.
For the activity the kids ran races in the backyard. I love warmer weather which means we can be outside a whole lot more.

After all of that fun we went inside and Rylee scooped out ice-cream for everyone. She was having a hard time with it because of the way she was holding the scoop and scooping and so I showed her how to do it right and it seemed to help her a bit better.

Grandmas Tea

While we were in town switching all the kids back Alison organized a quick Grandmas Tea for the girls that were in town. First was a reminder of the manners that needed to be used and then the treats were passed around. As they were eating, time was spent trying to get conversation going by asking each other questions. I am not sure that conversations were flowing but I do know it was a fun time for them all to spend together as well as a great ending to a fun week.

Cousin Swap

During Spring Break we had a bit of a cousin swap going on. From Saturday to Tuesday I had Mikayla and Bailey here while Avynlea and Rylee were in Nyssa with Ally. On Tuesday I got Avynlea and Rylee back along with Ally while Kenedy and Ryker went to Mikayla and Baileys house. Wednesday morning Rylee went to stay at Qiana and Brielles house for an overnighter. On THursday Rylee came back home and then Friday we went to Nyssa to swap back all the kids that were still swapped. I think the kids had a really fun week hanging out with their cousins and spending quality fun time with family.
Kenedy climbed to the top of the tree in her Grandpas her Grandpas yard and was really pleased with herself and her climbing skills.

Sara gave Kenedy this One Direction puzzle and Kenedy along with Mikayla put it together in a couple of days. She then Mod Podged it all together and is hoping to get a frame for it.
