Andrew and Maren Get married!

At the end of August we went down to Utah again this time for Andrew and Maren's wedding. Everyone came up for the wedding which was fun. Kefford and I stayed at Joshua and Mallorys house but I went down first with Mom, Ashleigh, Abigail, Atticus and Avynlea so they could spend a little more time in Utah with family. Kefford needed to work so he stayed in Idaho until right before the wedding. Ashleigh stayed with Emily but Emily was back in school so she was gone most days and we were left to our own devices. One day when Ashleigh was over with Abigail and Ashleigh we got them to pet Wyndemere for the first time. These two have been scared of dogs and run away screaming whenever one came near them and we were able to teach them that he was nice.

We would go on walks around Joshuas' neighborhood and we liked walking by one house that had goats in their yard. It was always fun to stop and watch them and sometimes we would see them fighting or crawling over each other being playful and we even saw them going to the bathroom more times then we would like.
One day we went to Curiosity Farms for Leona's birthday and this is how the website describes it...

Curiosity Farms

MADE POSSIBLE BY THE BILL AND PAT CHILD FOUNDATION

Explore science and technology at Curiosity Farms, a real working farm in the heart of Silicon Slopes showcasing the newest and coolest advancements in agriculture. Become curious in the Grow Tech Gardens, where hydroponic containers provide a glimpse into the future of farming. Build your confidence and have fun at the Play Patch Playground. Grow compassion for life by feeding the goats and pigs, milking the cows, and riding the ponies. With dozens of hands-on experiences, a visit to Curiosity Farms will inspire generations of kids through the transformative power of STEM.
It was such a cool place and it made me a little jealous that we don't have a fun place like that here in Idaho. It had an indoor play area with Innovation Stations and livestock learning labs. It had a big playground, a train to ride, ponies that the kids could ride, grow tech gardens and goats to feed.

Later that night we went to Texas Roadhouse because Leona chose it for her birthday and that was fun. We had to sit at separate tables because we had so many people but we were close enough to each other that we could still have fun.

Rylee and Avynlea stayed in Salt Lake with Kenedy and Ty and they had fun being together.
Andrew was going through his stuff at Joshua's house packing things up in preparation for his wedding and he brought out this hat he had that he used for some steampunk themed costume. I liked it and wanted to try it on and take a picture.

The day of Andrew and Marens sealing Mom thought we should go to lunch all together with as many of us who were around. We went to in and out and it was not my favorite but it was fun to be with family.

While at lunch Maren had mentioned to Stephanie that she didn't have anyone to do her hair for the sealing and was fine with just leaving it down. Stephanie told her I was really good at hair and kind of volunteered me to do her hair. I was game and went we got back I curled her hair and put a boho style braid in it. I think she liked it but when we got to the temple later she said that the bottom of the braid kept catching on her seat in the car and she took it out. She left the pullback braids in, it was just the bottom part she removed.
Andrew and Maren were sealed on Friday and it was a beautiful sealing and I was happy that we could all be there to support them. After the sealing we took pictures outside the temple and then we went to Joshuas house for a casual bbq. It was a lot of fun to be outside with family and to meet some of Maren's extended family. After the party had wound down Avynlea and Rylee wanted to debut their new Youtube channel titled "Raw Rabies" and they did a screening for our family and it was hilarious and so fun. Those two crack me up and they remind me of how Heather and I used to perform for our family and grandparents when we were younger.

Saturday was the day of the civil ceremony and it again was beautiful and the speech from the friend who married them was really sweet and also funny. They have a connection to the Muppets which I did not know about and the friend who married them  incorporated the Muppets into his speech. When it was time  for the speak now or forever hold your peace one of the guests "spoke now" with a Kermit muppet but then decided it was ok for them to get married. It sounds strange but it really was cute. After the ceremony they had a taco truck for dinner with chips and salsa. I got my tacos, started to eat them and then found a hair which ruined the tacos and I couldn't eat them anymore, of course. There was dancing, bubble blowing and even a fun bouncy house which was fun for pictures. I am so happy for Andrew and Maren and wish them all the best in their future marriage life.

Maren had flowers for all the girls in the families to wear in their hair and all the men got flowers to wear on their shirts, I thought it was a lovely touch.

Ryker and Anna came for the civil wedding and I somehow did not get one picture of them which I am disappointed in myself with. I am glad they drove up for the day and it was fun to spend a little bit of time with them.

Scheels

On Thursday we went to Scheels which is a fun place to walk around plus they have the giant Ferris Wheel that you can ride for just a dollar. Of course we let the kids ride the Ferris Wheel first and they liked it. I am glad for that, it scares me to be on that thing and so I am glad they found enjoyment from it.

Abby and Ashleigh and Atticus and Avynlea

Scheels has a shooting gallery and the kids had fun pretending to shoot the guns.

Mom spotted Bigfoot and had to have a picture with. Hahaha, actually I probably talked her into taking a picture and she was so thrilled I am sure ;)

We went strawberry picking that day also. My plan was to do strawberries in a cup and put chocolate over them for the open house but then I found the cake bar idea and pivoted to that. Picking strawberries was the plan when I wanted to use them for the open house so we kept the picking strawberries plan just moved it to after the event. Once we got to the strawberry farm and saw the size of the strawberries I was glad that we pivoted. They were very small berries and it was a lot of work to pick what we got. It was fun and something new and we got some yummy strawberries so it was not a loss.
I had one of my dance moms contact me to ask why she could not find my name on the website for any of the dance classes. I let her know that I had retired and she sent me a picture of her girls letting me know they were sad about that and that they had loved me as a teacher and would miss me. I was happy to see the girls and I am sad about not having that relationship any more but I am content with my decision.

Western Idaho Fair

When our kids were little we would take them to the Western Idaho Fair but we have not done that in a long time. Because Ashleigh and her kids were in town at this time I thought it would be fun if we went again this year and she was happy to go. But first Avynlea did some couples yoga with Atticus which was fun for him, for her and for all of us watching.

Jessica Pace dropped off a flower and card to thank me for serving with her in the YW. She was released as President and I was grateful for the time I had to serve with her.

After spending some time at the fair Kefford and I remembered why we haven't gone in so long, its not really super fun. The tickets for the rides are not cheap and it is super hot and just meh. We walked through and saw all of the animals and submissions for the different categories to compete for prizes. I liked looking at the quilts and think that maybe next year I will submit a quilt. The prize money is only a couple of dollars so its not like I would try to get rich off of it but I think it would be fun to submit something.
Kefford bought tickets for Avynlea and Rylee to go on one of the high flying rides and Ryker bought tickets for him and Anna to go on a ride or two. Avynlea and Rylee had enough of their tickets left over that they were able to go on one of the rides with Ryker and Anna, a haunted house type ride which they said was really lame. Atticus really wanted to go on rides but Ashleigh did not want to spend the money to let him which I completely understood. Ryker had enough tickets left over that he didn't care to use so he gave them to Ashleigh so that Atticus could pick a ride to go on. I took Abby with me and Mom and we went to go find the ice cream potato stand.

Way back in 2004 Mom had come to visit us in August and she came with us to the Western Idaho Fair where she tried an Ice cream potato for the first time. I love that she got to have one again after all this time and I took a picture so we could do a then and now.

Kefford and I got one to share and when everyone met back up with us they all got their ice cream potato, they were delicious

Ryker and Anna Open House in Meridian

Saturday morning we did our family pictures and then we spent the day getting our house and backyard ready for the Open House we had planned for Ryker and Anna. We were using the back patio for food so we moved the couch to our new back back patio and I just love how it turned out. It looked good with the furniture but our long term plan is to buy a fire pit and get chairs.

WE bought a 4x4 and I had Kefford drill holes in it which I used to put glass tubes in for flowers. Y9ou can see it in the edge of the picture, Ashleigh and I had just finished staining it with Joshuas "Supervision" and it was laying out to dry. I got all of my ideas for food and decor off of TikTok and I really loved how it all turned out.

After Fredrick broke his arm falling off our trampoline I had Kefford take out the long poles and replace them with the shorter ones we had in it when our kids were small. We have more small kids using the trampoline and I wanted to try to prevent any. ore injuries from happening. Atticus and Abby had so much fun on the tramp while they were here and it was so nice that they were able to get on and off by themselves.

Atticus, Abby and Ashleigh

I did a charcuterie spread with cheese, meats, crackers and fruit and I also made a ton of little cakes for a cake bar. Ashleigh and Yardley helped me make vanilla and chocolate frosting which we put into piping bags. Yardley and Emily Young, who very kindly asked to come and help, would put the frosting of choice on the cake for the guest and then they got to pick their toppings to put in. It was such a fun idea I found on TikTok and everyone here loved it, all of our guests were super complimentary and thought it such a unique and creative idea. I was so happy with how everything turned out.

Anna was really excited to arrange the flowers we had picked in the little tubes and she did a great job. Rylee was excited to pose in front of our display, I love her.

We had a lot of family and friends come and Annas Mom Aileen and her twin sister Andy came which I loved for Anna. As the party was winding down we were all gathered on the patio furniture and Aileen took a picture of us all.
