Time for a change!

On Thursday I went to the hairdresser to get some color put on my hair. I kinda had the idea that I wanted to go a bit darker with some funky red added in, but was open to ideas from my hairdresser. We talked about what I was thinking and she told me some things that she was thinking and away we went! She dried and styled my hair with my back to the mirror and when she turned me around for the big reveal. I was THRILLED! It was perfect and I loved it. YAY!
Here is the before.

And here is the after. I know the pictures doesn't really show it off to its advantage but it really is different.

I have dark streaks of red and then she added a bit of Blondie to the front! Too much fun!

This and That

Last week it was my turn for our pre-school co-op. Since it was Halloween week I had the kids come on Thursday dressed in their cute Halloween costumes for a Halloween party! We played games and I had the kids do alot of Ghostly crafts, perfect since the letter of the week was "G"!

Here is the group of cuties!

And here they are being spooooky for the camera!

On Sunday the kids got the play-dough out and decided to play challenge with it. The Food Network has a show called challenge where different cake designers are given a theme and then have 8 hours to decorate the cake according to the theme. So the kids played this with play-dough and while I don't know what the theme was I do know that Kenedy won and she took a picture of her winning creation with my camera!

Apparently playing with the camera is a favorite past time since all the kids seem to be doing it. Avynlea had styled Rylee and then took her picture. It was kinda cute so we saved it!

Harvesting your Talents

I hate to say it but this year our Ward Halloween Party was a BIG disappointment. Instead of doing the usual trunk-or-treat with all the cute kids dressed in cute costumes, somebody on the activities committee thought it would be a good idea to have a Harvesting your Talents party. No costumes and no trunk-or-treat. Just bring what talents you have and want to showcase and that's that. To be fair they did have some activities for the kids but to not let the kids dress in costume was not cool. I was really mad right before because I thought it would be OK to let the kids dress up and so I did and we were ready but then Kefford called a member of the bishopric to ask if we could and he said that they specifically said no costumes! Yeah so I was ticked but I managed to shake the bad mood so that we could go and try to have fun.

Kenedy has turned into a little baker in our house and i let her bake some cupcakes and a cake from scratch to showcase at the party as her talent. They must have been good because some people snitched a couple of her cupcakes from the display. I had to make a sign that said "Please don't eat the Display". Even then I saw some kids looking mighty tempted as they gazed at her handiwork!
The party turned out to be an OK party and I was impressed with all the different talented people we have in our ward...but next time can we please wear costumes..please!

Happy Halloween!

And here we have all of the kids in all of their costumes on Halloween Night!

The kids looked soo cute in their costumes and yes I did make them all myself. They turned out really great and I was/am quite proud of them.
I guess I should mention that I took the kids out trick-or-treating with our friends the Warners, and after about half an hour Rylee and Ryker had enough and called it quits so I called Kefford to come and get them. The rest of us stayed out for about and hour and a half more and Kenedy and Avynlea came home with a TON of candy! I have since put all of the candy into one big bowl which we will all share! :0)
I hope everyone had a great Halloween night!

Halloween at Dance!

Did I ever mention that Rylee is taking dance class with Avynlea? I started her up a couple weeks after Avynlea and she loves it! So this last week they got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and have a dance party!

They had a little parade down the hall of the dance studio so we could see the costumes and clap for them.

The two cute little fairies looked sooo adorable!

Rylee as Tinkerbell.

They got to go trick-or-treating to their dance teacher and got goldfish crackers and teddy grahams. Yum-Yum!

Avynlea as Iridessa from the TinkerBell movie! I loved the yellow of her dress!

THe two girls with Miss Kim their Dance teacher. They love her and she is soo good with the kids. Too much fun!

Fun Girls!

Kenedy took Avynlea upstairs one day, dressed her up and did her hair.

I think she is totally rocking this 80's look! Check out that fun side pony! I only wish she had tied her shirt up on the side, that would have been so totally rad!

When I came upon this scene the conversation went like this:

Me:what are you girls doing?

Avy:we are feeding our babies.

Me:How are you feeding them?

Avy:Shhhhh Ryker is in here I can't say it out loud.

Me:oh well then Rylee how are you feeding your babies?

Avy:Fine...we are feeding them with our boobies!

Apparently she didn't want Rylee to get the glory of telling me what was going on, little does she know that I knew that would happen which is why I brought Rylee into it. They are good little mommies!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

My cousins baby was due Oct. 5 and about a month ago I went to her baby shower. The one and only game that was played was the one where you guess when you think the baby will be born and what the weight will be. I was the first one to write down my guess and after some thought and estimations I put down Oct. 13 with the weight being 7'13. This was her first baby and I figured it would come late, plus I like the number 13 so that is what I went with. After everyone had put down what they guessed I looked the sheet over. I was the only one waaaay out there with my guess. All the other party goers did before the due date or right after. I thought about changing my but then thought "no way! I like my guess" and left it at that.

Fun for me but not fun for Kelsey when her baby had to be induced on Oct 14 because he would not come! I know it was driving her crazy but I was pretty excited as it got closer and closer to my guessing date with no baby yet to arrive!

I LOVE being the winner and my prize was pretty fun. A cute fall basket filled with yummy spicy room spray, an adorable pumpkin pillow made by Tami (Baby's Grandma) a candle, nut/acorn mix, and a bag with candy corn flavored Hershey kisses. What a fun filled prize. Thanks Tami for making the prize something so exciting and thanks Kelsey and baby for letting me be the winner! Love you guys!
