Mothers day Tea

The Achievement Days Girls had a Mothers Tea this year in May for the Moms. Kefford came home early from work so that I could go with Kenedy. We had a yummy little luncheon and then they showed a DVD that Deena Warner had made for this day. Previously we were all asked to send in a picture of our Daughters of when they were a baby. Deena put all of the pictures on the DVD and set them to music for a slide show. it was really sweet and I liked seeing all of the girls as babies. Kenedy was an especially cute baby. I had a fun time being with Kenedy she is such a sweetheart and I am really glad that we had this time together!

Father Daughter Kickball!

The Achievement day girls cannot do something with the Moms and not do something for the Dads so in June it was time for the Father/Daughter kickball.

Kefford was still on crutches and he really could not participate so Ryker went in for Kefford. But after watching all of the fun being had without him Kefford had to break the rules and go in to kick the ball.

He kicked it with his good foot and then Ryker ran for him. What a crazy guy!
A great time was had by all!

Kenedy learns to sew!

Kenedy has been expressing an interest in learning how to sew and so when I got the Jo-Ann's flyer for kids camp classes I knew we needed to sign her up for a couple. The first sewing class she took was a basic beginners learn how to sew a pillowcase. I took Kenedy to pick out some material which she picked out the cutest fabric and then sent her off to the class with material and sewing machine in hand!

How cute is she beginning to prep for her class!? This class was a one day two hour class.

I came back right before it was over and found the busy bee sewing away.

The finished product! She did so good and was so excited to show off her first ever sewing project! I love it!

The other sewing class she took was a two hour two day class. She picked out these materials and then got to work in class.

The finished product! A super cute, super fun skirt! She didn't quite get it all finished in the class so she had to go to another one and when she came out of that one still not completed I set her up at home to finish it and finish it she did.

She was so excited to wear it to church for the first time. I made the little flower for her shirt out of her leftover ribbon. She really did a great job on this skirt and I am so proud of her!

First day of School!!!!

It was the first day of school!!! At the end of last year I took my kids out of Linder Elementary and enrolled them at Chaparral Elementary. Linder has been going downhill pretty fast the past couple of years and finally I decided that our family had had enough and it was time to move on. We picked Chaparral because most of the kids in our ward were attending that school and because we have heard not one bad thing about the school. I had a couple of opportunities to be in that school and it always felt so good and right. So we switched. Yay!!
Chaparral is on a modified school calendar and so that meant school started a couple of weeks earlier then the other schools..it started August 11th to be exact. By the time this day rolled around we were all ready for back to school. The kids were really excited and all of them woke up super early and were ready really quick. I of course took the annual back to school pictures and this year was exciting because we added one more to the back to school bunch.

Can you believe how teenagerish Kenedy looks? When she came downstairs all ready for school i could not believe how much she grew up over night. She is starting to look like a teenager, that is so crazy! She was looking super cute in her new clothes.

Ryker is one cute boy and he was pretty excited to start this new school year. He is so cute!

Now that Avynlea in starting Kindergarten we have three kiddos in school. So crazy!! They are looking good and are natural models!

Don't you love Avynleas new outfit. She picked it out and thought it was the cutest thing ever. I think she looks adorable. This outfit reminds me of an outfit I had that was really similar when I was in the fifth grade.

A new school means the kids get to ride the bus to and from school for the first time ever. They love that. The bus pick-up in the morning and after school is at Linder and the kids were sooo excited to get on the first time.

Avynlea is in afternoon Kindergarten and her bus pick-up is on our street corner. Wouldn't you know that the first day of school is cold and rainy, luckily Avynlea had her raincoat. after the bus picked her up on the corner Rylee and I jumped in the car and headed over to the school so we could watch her arrival and help her be a little bit more comfortable about this new routine. When her bus arrived at the school the kids had to sit and wait on the bus for a couple of minutes until the Lady with the walkie-talkie came to take them off and walk them over to where they were supposed to be. While the kids were waiting for their class to start they got to play on the playground. Rylee went to play also. Aftera couple of minutes the rain suddenly came pouring down and all the kids ran off the playground. It kinda made me laugh. I watched Avynlea go inside her classroom and then I left with my little buddy Rylee. Oh and while the kids were playing I saw Kenedys class had come outside and they were being taught what to do when a fire happens. It was funny to watch all those fifth graders sprint inside when the rain came down!
Rylee and I have been looking forward to the kids going to school so that it would just be me and her at home. Rylee likes to play by herself and gets frustrated sometimes when her siblings take over her play, so she was excited for some alone time. So what do you think Rylee did this first day of quiet time...

she slept. What a cutie! I had such a quiet and peaceful afternoon it was so great!
The first day of school was a success! All of the kids enjoy their teachers, everyone felt comfortable at their new school, and everyone had a good day! I really hope it lasts! :0)

Cousins!

Keffords brother Kelsey and his family have moved to town which is really exciting because I get my bestie sister-in-law finally and the kids get to see their cousins so much more. It is grand!

Rylee looooooves babies and so she is thrilled that she has baby Asher around to hold and love on. Problem is he is quickly becoming not so much a baby and does not want to be held all the time. Oh well she will have fun trying anyway!

Rylee, Brielle, Kenedy and Qiana
We went to free lunch in the park once or twice this summer and I thought it was so cute to see the way Kenedy took over being the "Big Sister/Cousin" with all of the kids. How cute are they holding hands while walking across the parking lot? Kenedy is at the age where she really enjoys baby-sitting and she likes that she can baby-sit her cousins sometimes.

Such cute little kiddos!

Swimming!

About a week ago we headed out to the farm so that I could help through a baby shower for my sister-in-law. While we were there the kids took the opportunity to go swimming in Grandmas pool. Yay!

Rylee did not want to go into the bigger pool with the big kids so we pulled out the little baby pool for her and her little cousins Brialle and Qiana. Silly Brielle absolutely would not look at the camera so I could get a picture with her. Oh well at least Rylee complied!

I was a little grossed out by the looks of the water but I had to remember that it was farm water and it wasn't going to give my kids diseases.

Avynlea was really excited to show me how she could hold her breath and go under the water!

Then Ryker took a turn to show me his holding breath skills!

Kefford posed for a couple of pictures. Doesn't he look so farmly! I did not realize until just now that the second picture focused on the shovels and not Kefford. Oh well.

More pool playing fun. Can you see Rylee sitting on the grass? Just what is the little scamp doing you might be asking.

She had to go to the bathroom and decided that it was better to go outdoors then take the time to run inside. You know the first time I saw a kid treat the yard like a toilet was when my Sisters daughter, Isabelle, did it on my lawn. I think she was 3 or 4. I was shocked but laughing! Since then I have had Avynlea do it a couple times and now Rylee. Crazy, crazy kids. You know what though? At least she didn't do it in the pool and she pulled down her bathing suit so it wouldn't get gross.

Flying with Grandpa

Keffords Dad has had his pilots license for a long time, since Kefford was young. Just recently he
bought an airplane and after hearing about it for weeks Kefford, Kenedy, Ryker and Avynlea were able to go flying with him.

Doesn't Ryker look good standing next to Bobs Plane?

OK just kidding this smaller one is really his plane.

These three monkeys were pretty excited about going on this flight!

All systems go, and ready for takeoff.

I heard it was pretty loud in the plane and so all the passengers get these cool headphones so that they could hear and talk to each other. Makes them look pretty official!

Ryker loved being up on the sky, Avynlea fell asleep pretty quick after takeoff and Kenedy said she got sick to her stomach. But they all enjoyed the experience and thought it pretty cool what Grandpa Bob can do.
