Sister Peterson Week 53

Please stay spring!!

Heyyy everyone! πŸ˜ Very very slowly it is getting warmer! I just really really hope I'm not getting tricked by the weather for the 100th time! πŸ™

πŸ‘« We have been working a lot with the Ito couple, our senior missionaries. They are just SO amazing!
Maybe I mentioned our new goal in my last email, but I don't think I did. Last transfer our goal was to 伝道 at 1000 train stations and we accomplished that!! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE PRAYERS! This transfer, we have a goal to visit and have a meaningful interaction 1000 inactive members! This is a little more tricky to plan because now we are involving other people's agency. But, with the help of the Ito couple, we were able to visit and share a scripture with 3 inactive members this week! They all come from the Kurakawa family, please pray for them! πŸ™ I see the potential of many miracles coming this transfer!

πŸ“–πŸ—£ We also had the chance to visit the 倧井 (Ooi) couple and had a great time. As always, Brother 倧井 recited Joseph Smith History 1: 11-20 IN ENGLISH. WITH HIS EYES CLOSED! This is the third time I heard him do it, but I will never cease to be amazed! He is pretty great!

πŸ‘“πŸ‘Ό Lots of miracles happened on Thursday!
🍫 We went housing and knocked on a woman's door. This was pretty close to a church and usually people say I know your church, I'm okay. BUT this woman, Chioko (like chocolate she said) invited us to give her a message, took the Pamphlet from our hands, and chatted for a while. She said she is always busy, so she can't come to church, but when we asked if we could visit her again, she said please!! WOOHOO
πŸ“– Next is Thales!! Thales is from Brazil and mediocre at English and Japanese. He started coming to our Eikaiwa class about a month ago and he loves it. I wanted to give him a Book of Mormon, so our Eikaiwa spiritual message at the end was about the Book. Afterwards I went over to talk to him and give him a book in Portuguese. He happily accepted! He said he will not make any promises to things, but he is super grateful we gave him the book and will read out of it. He also told me how much he loves our English class! Ohhh Thales!
🎻✨️ After English class, we have a violin class that some of the members do. One member's friend is an expert violinist and this time he brought his wife and second cousin! So after Thales went on his way with his book, we were like okay... time to hand out the next book. We started talking to Misa and Suzu and quickly became friends. Then, we introduced the Book of Mormon to them! They had lotssss of questions which was amaazziinggg! They were especially interested and asking about the pictures in the beginning. So, using those pictures we were able to teach them a lot about the Book. This was all going on with very squeaky, very loud violins playing in the background! A member said she saw Misa looking at the book some more in her car afterwards. Ahh~~ so amazing!

😌The coolest thing for me about all these miracles, started the day before they all did. I was struggling a little bit and feeling anxious that my mission is on the countdown. Have I done enough? Worked hard enough? I have not seen a crazy amount of success from my hard work, does that mean something? I prayed about all these questions, then I prayed to see/recognize the fruits of my labor. Then, the very next day, all these miracles happened.
God is so good.
It reminded me of Ether chapter 6! Literally the whole chapter is perfect. But verse 7 always sticks out to me.

"And it came to pass that when they were buried in the deep there was no water that could hurt them, their vessels being tight like unto a dish, and also they were tight like unto the ark of Noah; therefore when they were encompassed about by many waters they did cry unto the Lord, and he did bring them forth again upon the top of the waters."

🌊 SO GOOD! I love in the beginning it emphasizes that their ship was so tight, the surrounding danger could never hurt them no matter how close it seemed to get. I like to imagine being in a tight bubble surrounded by God's love. Then, when they were at the lowest in the water, maybe at their lowest time, THEY PRAYED! After their prayer, the Lord brought them to the top to give them hope and courage to keep going.
This is literally what happened to me.
I know God is good, loving, consistent. His plan is perfect and we may never know the reason for most things until after we die. But, as we reach out to Him and have faith in Him, He will provide.
Shoutout to my MTC Sistrict, GOD ALWAYS PULLS THROUGH! πŸ·πŸ’…
He loves you so much!
I love you tooo!!!
Make it a good week!

P.s. JJ and Paul were not able to make an appointment because they were too full, but they walked around the temples grounds! We recieved this text from brother Wil...

"The Temple grounds are so beautiful. When we got to the Temple, they said "Suddenly it doesn't feel and sound like we're in the City anymore" serene and beautiful πŸ€"

Our amazing Grandparents for the transfer! I ❤️ δΌŠθ—€

Ryker and Anna are Engaged!!

Heather and Jackson have been "talking/dating" for about a year now. They are both in their 40's and Jackson cooled things off in December because he thought Heather did not want kids and he does. Heather absolutely wants kids and when she found out why Jackson took some steps back from her they had a conversation and realized they were both on the same page. They started back up dating again and are now talking marriage which makes me so excited. I called it back in July when they were just talking and said I thought they were end game. looks like I was right and I am so happy for Heather, she deserves the best!

Ryker proposed to Anna and she said Yes! They have been talking about getting engaged for a while and Ryker was able to get a ring made from his friend Maya Thompson's Dad who we know from the Verona Ward. Steve made a beautiful ring for Ryker and shipped it out so that it would get there before Sunday which is the day he wanted to propose. Unfortunately it did not arrive when it was supposed to and despite Kefford's best efforts and relentless calling of FedEx the ring did not arrive until Monday. None the less Kenedy and Ty drove down on Monday so that they could help Ryker get the spot all set up and so Kenedy could take pictures. Ryker did the proposal and Anna said yes and I couldn't be happier with Rykers choice. Anna is super sweet and easy to be around and I am so happy to have her be a part of our family.
The two couples went to dinner after the proposal and took a couple of pictures. I am glad that Kenedy and Ty were able to help out and be there for the proposal.
Avynlea sent. message to her missionary besties group chat which I thought was so super cute.

Lacrosse and Steak

Lacrosse has started up again and I am so excited! I love watching Rylee play and am so glad she decided to learn a new sport her Sophomore year. Since Kenedy and Ty were still in town they were able to come and watch with Kefford and I.

In Rylees government class they each had to pick a US President and then brackets style go against each other in a debate about why they were great and the class would vote on their favorite and they would move on. Rylee chose Gerald Ford and somehow was able to talk him up to the class so well that she got to the final two. During one of the debates Rylee talked about a steak recipe that Gerald Ford loved and she promised the class that if they voted her to the next round that she would bring them steak. Of course she was voted through and so the night before her class Kefford helped her cook up a couple of steaks to take to her class. We cooked two and then cut them up into bit sized pieces so we were not feeding everyone their own steak. Not to many people ate any but it was ok because Rylee was a woman of her word and fulfilled what she promised.

Owyhee High School has an Associates degree program that we enrolled Rylee in and through taking College level classes and college classes during the summers she earned her Associates before Graduating from High School through Boise State. She was supposed to pick up her Boise State cap and gown but was in school during that time. I was available to go after I taught dance class on Monday so I drove over to BSU and got in line to get her stuff. I stood in that line for about 2 hours but I was finally able to make it through and I got her graduation regalia. When Rylee got home from school she tried the cap and gown on and she looked so cute, I cannot believe my baby is graduating.

Avynlea was ging a talk on her mission in her Ward and we were able to watch and listen because she sent us a zoom link. I am so grateful that we have these opportunities to see our missionary doing her thing. I am so proud of her and love her so much!

I have taught Raegan Young dance since she was three years old until she aged out of my classes at 6 years old. I now have taught her younger sister Harper for the past two years and it has been fun having another Young in my class. Raegan had to do a class project on someone in the community she considers a heart and she chose me which was so sweet. He Mom brought her over after church one Sunday so she could interview my about my job and she really was the cutest thing. The next Sunday in church she came to show me her completed presentation poster. I loved it and loved seeing our pictures from Dance recitals through the years including the last one with Harper. I love that I have made a difference in her life thus far and that she considers me someone to look up to.

Sister Peterson Week 52

1 year (almost) down

Hi everyone! Happy March! I hit my 1 year as a misisonary tomorrow! AHHHH CRAZYYYY

πŸ˜’πŸ’“Transfers!! You guessed it, my beloved MacDonald 姉妹 left me for Tsu. She is thriving and really living her best life speaking english to all the filipinos over there, so I am very very happy for her. But... I am so so sad she left me. I will be honest, I had tears in my eyes like all weekend without her. We were best friends, and the times were always too good. I have no doubt we will reunite after the mission... at byui hehehe. My prophesy. πŸ™‡
❇️My new companion is Beal 姉妹! she is lovely and I think we have a lot of similarities. I have heard that people get the 2 of us mixed up a lot. Hehe. I feel honored because she is gorgeous!!

πŸšƒ✔️1000 ekis goal complete!!! This past transfer was huge for our mission! We saw a lot of baptisms and a lot of hard work get done! I think a lot of it had to do with our faith and consecration for this challenge. I did not see a lot of miracles that came straight from my finding at the train stations (ekis), but I saw miracles in other areas of my work. It was one of the best transfers I think I will have on my mission.

πŸ”†πŸŸMacDonald 姉妹's last day here was so beautiful! It was so sunny and nice outside which was a good change from the clouds that have been lurking. We went finding at our last eki and then walked to McDonalds for lunch. Suzuki 姉妹 called us and said she saw us walking and she was now on her way to McDonalds. It was a surprise, but we ended up having a great lunch. I love that woman.

πŸ’›I barely mentioned it last week, but yes, JJ and Paul got the Priesthood! I felt so lucky to be in that room and feel the spirit so strong. Yesterday they recieved their temple recommends and are planning a temple trip either this weekend or next! Even by talking to them, I can tell a difference in who they are. The gospel is so perfect!

☺πŸ™‹I will leave you with a short scripture!
"10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;"
God knows us, He loves us. He also loves your neighbor, and every single person you walk by in the day. The next time you look around a group of people, remember this. They are just as important as you, and you are just as important as them.
I love you all!!!!
