EDP Dance Pictures

The week after the first set of Dance recitals was our Dance Recital for Elevated Dance Project. Avynlea and I danced on Thursday and Rylee danced on Friday. It made for two long nights but again we got through it and it was fun.

I again helped teach the PreTeen hiphop/ jazz class and the Elementary Hiphop/jazz classes. Both had kids from previous years and new dancers so it was a lot of fun. The older girls danced a hiphop ad jazz combo to "Another on bites the Dust" and another more jazzy song I am not aware of what the title it that was mashed in to the other one. It was fun and the girls did awesome!

This year our adult class did our dance to a song called "We Don't eat" It was a really pretty lyrical which is always my favorite to dance to. We also danced with chairs this year and that was a new and fun experience. I loved this dance and as always an so, so, so happy that I not only get to teach dance but that I can continue taking classes for myself. It is the best!

The younger kids did their Hiphop and jazz mashup to "Everything is awesome". They were always pretty unpredictable in class and so I was not sure how they would perform but I was pleasantly surprised. They did the best I have ever seen them do their dance! What perfect timing for them to peak. Rylee was awesome and did so good. So proud of these dancers.

This was such a fun Kinderstars class. I loved these girls and teaching them was always enjoyable. They did their dances to "When will my Life Begin" from Tangled and they were cute little glow Fairies in the Maleficent ballet that was performed this year by the ballet classes. So fun!

Avynlea was in with a different teacher this year and she loved her experience. SH wis really bummed that this is the only year Isabelle will be teaching. She would have loved to have taken from her again. Her dance was called "Waterfall" by Coldplay and she was beautiful as always. I love seeing those dimples shine on stage.

This is my little buddy Maddie. I danced with her Mom Courtney in our adult class and Maddy was always their with us and then in my class right after. Over time she grew pretty attached to me and liked being with me where ever I was. The feeling was reciprocated and I sure did enjoy being with this cute kid.

Kristi I have taken classes with for the past 3 or 4 years and we have become really good friends. I was sad that she could not take class with us due to scheduling conflicts this year but was I ever so happy to see her at the recital. It was so nice to talk and catch up. I love this girl!

Alison, Trista, Makayla and Ally came on Thursday night to watch and support and Alison came also on Friday night. I am so grateful to my in-laws for being so supportive of my and my girls. They brought flowers for all of us and it was so awesome to have them all there. Kefford Ryker and Kenedy, of course, came as well. Although Kenedy could not come on Thursday night due to Cheer tryouts. Another great year of dance!

Dance Connection Dance Pictures

The Saturday before Mother's Day was The Dance Connection Dance recital. Because of a double booking for the night before we had to move that show to Saturday and ended up having 5 shows on Saturday. It was the craziest, busiest most hectic day but also a lot of fun! I LOVE Dance recital day! Seeing all of our hard work that year pay off is super rewarding for a dance teacher. The theme was Under the Sea and my boss Cyndi bought all of us teachers pretty bracelets to go with the theme. 

I love hair bows and I love this big hair bow I wore the night before to go set up the stage for our big day.

I always try to get pictures of my dancers sometime during the recital. A couple of dancers were not going to be at the recital and for those classes I took pictures during class. 

My Bright Beginnings Babies class was such a hard class for me this year. We originally started off with them dancing with the older girls but it was really hard to concentrate on each dancer because I was so busy chasing after the littles trying to get them to stay on their stickers. So we separated them and it was easier to have them on their own but they were still really crazy and not good listeners. I love these girls though, they are stinkers but so cute. 

For the recital they were grouped up with another teachers littles class and these girls danced how I expected them to. They did not stay on their spot they were super distracted by the decorations and Annalisa and Maryn ran up to me during the dance and wouldn't dance. It was a hot mess but what do you expect from two and three year olds.

I taught my Eagle Creative class during their lunchtime and it was sometimes really hard for them to concentrate because they wanted to eat. I thought they did a great job dancing and was really proud of them.

This Premier class liked to fight with each other all the time. Over time I learned who could stand next to who and who had issues with who and hope to get through the class. They are fun girls and were awesome on the stage.

Cloverdale Monessori was my best class ever! This was another class I had to split because it grew too big, 15 girls! They were such good kids and great listeners that I really could have taught them all together but we just did not have enough space. They did the best in the recital, they were so good, I was so happy! Kenedy and her friend Ashlyn helped with this class and had my phone backstage so she took some pictures for me from behind the scenes which is fun.

After the long day of recitals was over Cyndi and her husband took all of the teachers and their spouses out to dinner. Kenedy got to come also since she was there helping all day. And let me just say that every year Kenedy comes and helps with the kids and she is always the best and hardest worker. We have the high school dance team come and help and they are not such great helpers. Kenedy is always the best and in fact this year I had two dance teachers, who were new with us this year, who did not realize that she was my kid talking about her saying how amazing she was and why couldn't all of the high school girls be like her. I felt so proud to say she was mine. They all loved her and all of my dancers who she helped with loved her. She cracked me up backstage because she would primp and fluff the girls before they would go on acting like a cute little dance Mom. 

It was fun to hang out and unwind after a long day of working with each other and talk about the day and all the crazy and fun things that happened. But boy was I ready to go home and go to bed. My feet ached and I was exhausted. I am glad that it is done and now it is time for a break! But I always look forward to a new year, I love dancing so much and I am so grateful to be able to teach what I love. It is the best!!

Mothers Day

On Mothers Day my family normally makes me a delicious breakfast of French Toast, my favorite! But this morning I was still full from the dinner I ate late the night before so I told them not to worry about making me breakfast. Rylee did lightly toast a couple of pieces of bread and put butter and cinnamon sugar on them for me. I ate a couple of bites to be nice and then let her finish them off. Rylee has been pretty excited to change out her earrings but the changing day was not till the next day. I decided to go ahead and have her change her earrings on Sunday and she was a little nervous about doing this because it was not officially the right day. I assured her it would be fine and got her to let me switch out the piercing earrings for some adorable strawberries! She is so cute, I love this girl!

Avynlea had gone with her friends to the mall the day before and I did not get to see her and her purchases until that morning so she was excited to show me her new sunglasses. She wanted me to try them on for a picture and then I had her wear them for another picture. She is such a fun and cool kid, I love her lots!

For some reason Rylee decided to lay down on the floor underneath the table after church and eat some snacks. She is a bit of a coo coo sometimes.

Kefford and the kids did zero planning for a Mothers Day dinner for me. When he got home from church he asked the kids what they wanted to make for dinner and they said hamburgers. The problem being that we did not have any pattys or buns. So Kefford decided to be creative and make hamburger tacos. Basically he cooked up some ground beef, put that on the table along with taco shells, the seven layer dip I made earlier that week and ketchup and mustard. Not at all my definition of a Mothers Day Dinner. Avynlea put hamburger and ketchup and mustard on her taco and took a bite and then let everyone else have a bite. I politely refrained and tried not to gag at what they were eating. I believe I deserve a redo.

I told them that I wanted chocolate cupcakes and so Kenedy made me some for dessert. She wins the best dessert award!

Kenedy got me a gift card and wrote me a really sweet letter that actually made me tear up. It is really nice to have reminders that my kids really do love me and to have them show appreciation is awesome. Ryker got me some tulips which was really fun. I was just thinking the other day how cool it would be to have a bouquet of tulips and that is what I got! Avynlea gave me a cool shirt and Rylee made me a bought of paper flowers at school. They all made cards and wrote really sweet notes. The gifts and cupcakes made up for the dinner being less then stellar :). 

I forgot to get a picture of the tulips and by the time I remembered they were pretty much dead. oops!

I love my kids a lot. They frustrate me and drive me crazy but they are my favorites and my life would be really boring without them. I would have more money, but still a really boring life. 

Votes For Women!!

Last night was the fourth grade Idaho History program. First all of the fourth graders danced, sang and played their recorders to songs from our Idaho History. It was a lot of fun watching Avynlea dance our state dance the square dance. She was so cute and really looked like she was having so much fun. I did not have the best seat in the house so Ryker took my phone up closer to take some pictures of Avynlea for me before the program began. As always I am so grateful for kids who know how much pictures and memories mean to me and step in when I am unable. 

After a half hour of music and dancing the kids went out and got ready for the "wax museum" portion of the evening. Each fourth grader took a person important to Idaho History, researched them, wrote a report, and then condensed their notes into a small narration to perform. Visitors were to bring a bunch of change and when a coin was dropped in the figures cup they "came alive" and gave their little speech. Avynlea was assigned to be Abigail Scott Dunaway, a pioneer, suffragette and hat shop owner. For her presentation Avy chose to focus on her work for women's rights. She did an excellent job and was so cute! The money they earned helps pay for shirts to wear to rendezvous. I grew up learning about California History and do not know much about this awesome state I live in now and so it was fun to listen to the different people who were so important to Idaho History.

Hamster at school Day and a new Driver

It was Rylee's turn in her classroom to bring in a mystery science share. She really wanted to bring in the hamster and after getting permission from her teacher I agreed to bring the Hamster in towards the end of the day. Rylee was really excited to show off Trinity and the kids had a lot of questions. It was really fun!

After Rylee's class I took Trinity over to Avynleas class to share, she also had permission from her teacher. These kids had a ton of questions also and everyone enjoyed having Trinity come and visit.

Before school I saw that Avy had wrapped an ace bandage around her leg for no reason and I told her to take it off which she did. It wasn't until I was in her classroom that I saw that she had put the bandage back on. Little stinker!

While I was in the classrooms Kefford took Kenedy to get her Drivers License. She was really excited to get it but I am now super nervous to let her out and about solo. I thought this would be a great thing and that I would let her run all my errands for me but now that it is actually a reality I don't know if I can let her go, way too scary! Luckily we don't have insurance for her yet so it is not a conflict yet but as soon as that happens I am going to have to put a lot of trust in this 15 year old. 

Kefford bought me a new pair of workout leggings. They are super cute and I love them!

On Saturday the girls walked with me to the Library and wanted me to take a picture of them with the sign. Cute little models!

Fruit Salad and Long Lashes

Rylee's teacher had her class fill out papers about something they are "Experts" at. They then had a day to bring in supplies and demonstrate this skill. Rylee chose to demonstrate how she is an "expert" at making fruit salad. She cut up all the fruit herself at home and then took the fruit in baggies in a bowl for her demonstration. I was not at the school to watch her so I took a picture of her beforehand.  She later told me that it went good and she was able to let everyone have half a spoonful of fruit salad. Cute girl!

Last week was Dance Picture week and I had my class pictures on Thursday so I put on my false eyelashes for an extra glam look. Of course I then had to take a couple of selfies to make sure I looked OK :)
