Another California Trip!

About half a year ago I got a text from my awesome sister Heather asking if I would be able to come down to California the weekend of Oct 4th. I wasn't sure what was going on and so I responded that I am not sure and what's up. She quick texted back that she just bought two tickets to see Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5, I responded right away with a Heck yeah I will be there! So the first week of Oct saw me flying back down to California. I was really excited to be able to go for a week and to have a low key week with my family also to go to the concert. 

While I was there I got to go do Yoga and Pilates with Heather. I had fun doing it, it was hard but really rewarding at the end. Mom also does yoga and Pilates but her classes are different times so I never got to be in a class with her. But one night after we were all day and hanging out at home I noticed that Mom and I were wearing the same workout pants! Of course I had to take a picture and I think we both make the pants look good!

On Friday Heather and I went to the concert. We went out to eat beforehand at Johnny Rockets and walked around an outdoor mall a little while while we waited for time to get closer to needing to be there. 

When we got there we got some pictures in front of the sign and then we both wanted to get a t-shirt. I said they had to be the same shirt and luckily we both liked the same one! 

Kelly Clarkson came out first and her songs were so fun. Heather and I were up and dancing and singing the entire time. Kelly is a really cute performer and I appreciate that her music is clean. She talked about the fact that she is getting married soon and introduced a new song that her friends wrote for her called "Tie it Up". It was really catchy and fun and so I bought it on tunes when we got home.

Kellys set lasted about an hour and then when she was done we waited about a half hour for them to rearrange the stage and then Maroon 5 came out. Once again Heather and I were up and dancing and singing the entire time. It was so much fun! Adam Levine has a little bit more of swearing in his songs and while he was talking which is not fun but luckily it wasn't a ton. I thought the concert was great and exciting and am so glad Heather bought the tickets and took me! She is really the best ever!

After it was all over we followed the crowd out to the parking lot and proceeded to sit in the car for almost an hour not moving. This was the worst display of an organized parking lot that I have ever seen. There was no organization whatsoever. It was a madhouse. Finally we were able to escape and get home around 2? 

Ashleigh decided that she wanted to learn how to teach Yoga and so I got a picture of her on her first day of Yoga School. I am excited for her in following her passion!

I was in California the weekend of General Conference and on Saturday night during the Priesthood session us Ladies went out to dinner. Another really fun night was had by all. Mary Beth who is a really good friend to our family came along.

I got to spend time with my cute and sassy niece Jaylynn. She always is good to make me laugh with her spunk.

On Monday I was at my Moms house alone because everyone had to go to work and so I took the time alone to make some Halloween pillowcases for my kids. I figured it would be fun to them to use every year during the month of October. I plan also on making Christmas ones.

I am so glad that I had this time to be with my family but it was also nice to head home because I missed my Husband and Kids.

A Beautiful Cheerleader

This year instead of doing Dance at the studio Kenedy decided that she wanted to be a cheerleader at her middle school. In Middle School they don't have to tryout for Cheer, anyone who wants to do it can do it. So Kenedy signed up and became a cheerleader, I do believe that if she were to tryout she would have made the squad because I think she is really good. Plus she looks super cute in her uniform. :) On her firsy game day I took Ryker and Rylee and we went to watch her perform and to cheer her on. She did awesome and it was fun to watch her perform.

Four-Wheeling

One Saturday Kefford took three of the kids out on the four-wheeler and motorcycle. This was Avynlea's first time on the motorcycle and Rylee's first time on the four-wheeler. They had a lot of fun and were pretty good at riding.

Rylee caught this grasshopper and did not want to let it go. Kefford kept trying to make it jump out of her hands and she would quick close her hands so it could not escape. Finally after a couple of pictures were taken she let the poor thing go.

Some Awesome News!

For our 15th anniversary this year Kefford told me to be ready to go by 2:00. I was ready by the appointed time and when Kefford got home he was running a little late and was in a big hurry to get out of the house. I couldn't figure out what the rush was and he then told me that I had an eye Dr appt. That made sense because I had been requesting he get me one for a while now and so I appreciated that I was able to get one in. I asked him if we were going to Dr. Iwasa because he was the one I had been going to for the past couple of years but he told me no we were going elsewhere. This is when he started getting really shady and started dodging the questions I was asking him. I couldn't figure out why he was being so weird. But then, we pulled into the Dr's parking lot, it was Hollingshead eye center and suddenly I suspected what was going on. Sure enough he took me inside and told me I was getting a consultation for Lazik Eye Surgery, Eye Surgery was my Anniversary gift! Amazing! I had my consultation and I was an above perfect candidate for the Surgery. So we made the arrangements and just like that I had a date for my eyes to be fixed.

I had to wear my glasses for a couple of weeks before the surgery which was kind of a pain but well worth it for what was going to be happening. The day of the surgery I was pretty nervous. I was not sure what was going to happen and although I have been told by everyone who has had it done that it does not hurt I was still fearful that it was going to hurt. 

Everyone their was super nice and when it was my turn I had numbing drops put in my eyes and I was led to the procedure room. When Dr Hollingshead learned from me that I was nervous he made sure to keep plenty of numbing drops in my eyes and talked me through the entire procedure telling me how good I was doing. It really didn't hurt, it smelled pretty bad because they were lazering my eyes but I did not have any pain. Lots of flashing flights, lots of clicking noises and of course that awful smell are what I remember from the actual going ons.

The coolest thing was sitting up after they were done and being able to see. It was foggy but I could see clear, it was amazing. I almost started crying because of how happy I was but I held myself together. After numerous post op visits I can report that I can see better then ever. My vision is 20/15 which is amazing. I love not having to wear glasses or being dependent on contacts. I am so glad that I had this done and am thankful that Kefford was super enough to arrange it all for me.  The following pictures are of me wearing the super attractive post op safety glasses. I had to wear them the rest of the day and then overnight. They were not uncomfortable but I was glad to not have to wear them for longer then that.

Kefford made me an ice cream cone that night and took some nice unflattering pictures of me while eating it and reading off my Kindle.

Mallory's Graduation

In August Kefford and I left the kids in the capable hands of their Grandparents and we headed to Utah to attend the Graduation of my Sister-in-Law Mallory. Her official Graduation is not till December but they only do the ceremonys once a year and so she went through it a little bit early. As of December though we will officially have a Nurse in the Family. So excited for her and all of her hard work.

Kefford wanted a picture with him and the Statue of Joseph Smith. It is a pretty cool looking Statue.

All of the Graduates had a picture and a Quote they picked out flash up on the screen when their names were called. I really love Mallory's chosen picture and Quote.

I think this is one of the first pictures I got of Kefford where he is actually smiling and not making a face. He is so Handsome!

Rodeo!

Kefford's Dad invited our family to go to the Caldwell Rodeo with them one night. I just so happened to be visiting Nyssa that day and some of them were talking about the Rodeo which was going on that night. I was in the right place at the right time and got my family invited to go along. I wasn't feeling the greatest that evening and so I stayed home with Rylee while Kefford took the other three. They came home happy and said alhtough it was a slow start they had a lot of fun. It was running pretty late and since the kids all had school the next day Kefford decided to bring them home rather then stay till th every end. One of the sponsors was handing out cowboy hats for the kids and so Ryker and Avynlea came home with some pretty bright hats.
