Sister Peterson Week 56

BoM Blitz and Kimonos

️If you ever go to Ishikawa Ken in Japan, do NOT try Gogocurry. It is OVERRATED no matter how many elders tell you they love it. No bueno! 

I do recommend the choconan in Nagoya though... 

We went to Kanazawa and had a Zone Book of Mormon Blitz!! It was so fun! Everyone was paired with another companionship and sent out into different areas of Kanazawa. We went to a college and went finding around there. 

We talked to a group of 4 people all from Africa. It was their second day in Japan and they were really so kind! We shared the Book of Mormon with them and talked a little about Jesus Christ which was really cool. They were so friendly and it was so refreshing to have a conversation about Jesus Christ in English, in the middle of the road. A very good moment!

The second book we handed out was to a college age boy who was so friendly. We read Ether 12:27 together and talked a little about it. He was very interested in free English classes and reading more about the book. It was also a very good moment.

I got a Kimono!! I do not have a picture of it right now, but as soon as I do you know I will be putting it in my email. 

Also, me and Sister Beal have started doing our comp studies with microphones and it has changed everything!

Friday was Kanazawa zone conference and you guys, I love this zone! The past few transfers have just felt like family and I have created bonds I will never forget. I really love these people. Conference was amazing per usual. We focused a lot on Jacob 5 from the Book of Mormon (a lot about missionary work) and prayer. The spirit was so strong and amazing!

On Sunday we had a party after church for the Relief Society! It was the 183rd birthday of the Relief Society organization! Relief Society is the woman's program in the church! We had an amazingggg costco cake and just a good ol time. The picture of all the woman trying to make hearts is my favorite ever! 

We also were able to visit a few inactive members and I just had the sweetest time. We visited Saitou Shimai who is in a nursing home and honestly has forgotten a lot of things. It was so sweet to be around her and I had another missionary moment where I just looked at her and felt so much of Christ's love for her. Ahhh I wanted to cry. She was so sweet and asked me and Sister Beal to write our names down for her. I live for the experiences like that.

I read a talk called The Living Bread Which Came Down from Heaven by Elder Christofferson and I L-O-V-E-D it. In it, he tells a story and says 

"My faults and weaknesses suddenly became so plainly clear to me that the gap between the person I was and the holiness and goodness of God seemed [like] millions of miles."

That sat with me and I was kinda like shoot. The gap between me and the holiness of our God is HUGE. I continued to ponder that then thought wait! We are lucky because you guys, we have Jesus Christ. He provides a way to close that gap between us and Heavenly Father. I know that when we repent, make covenants, and pursue holiness 少しずつ (little by little) we can become more like our Heavenly Father!

 Does that make sense? Haha I am half distracted right now, Sister Beal and I are planning her future.

Anna said Yes to the Dress

 

Kenedy was invited to go with Anna and her family wedding dress shopping. Kenedy had a lot of fun and sent Rylee and I some pictures of Anna trying on dresses. It came down to these two dresses which were both so beautiful on her but ultimately she chose the one on the right. I love it and love that she looks so confident and feels so good in it. She is beautiful!

There is someone who goes to the Lacrosse games to take pictures and then posts them on Social media. I found him because Rylee's coaches will repost the pictures on their Lacrosse account. I love finding the pictures that have Rylee in them and in this set I found two with my favorite player number 7.

Alison came to watch one of Rylee's games, it was a little rainy but not too bad, it was fun having her come and support Rylee.

The Seniors Moms decided to surprise our daughter's and get FatHeads made of them. I had Rylee's at this game and when she spotted it she was pretty embarrassed. I think she looks beautiful in the FatHead and love waving it around whenever she does something amazing which is often.

The girls played against Vallivue and won! It was a great game and I am so proud of our team, they just keep getting better and better.

Dustins family was coming through and they stayed at our house for one night. Kefford pulled out some of Ryker's cars and trucks for their youngest Nathanial to play with. Unfortunately, when no one was supervising, Nathanial got into Rykers cars collection and opened a bunch of the packages that had never been opened. Dustin felt really bad and promised to try to find them in the stores so he could replace them.

Sister Peterson Week 55

The worst week for the nicest weather

Hello everyone!!

Happy middle of March!

Poor Sister Beal got hit by the sick bus this week.:( You can't really do much missionary work when you are sick, so we spent most of our time inside. The weather was absolutely beautiful though which is a miracle! We tried our best to go out as often as we could for some nice refreshing walks. My favorite thing was that we were able to watch the sunset from our favorite spot almost everyday!! Yayyyy woohoooo

The hunt for Inactive members still continues. You guys, everyone please pray that we can meet our goal for this challenge! It is HARD! There have been a lot of people who just say they do not have interest in the church, or who are simply not home. I am very thankful for those good people we have been able to have good conversations with! 

Did I talk about the 2 girls that came up to us last week? Their names are Yukina and Juna! Well, Tuesday night we had dinner with them, then hung out with them at the church. It was so fun!! I love them both so so much! We found out that Yukina is like really good at the piano, and it just happens that we need an accompanist for a song we are singing at church easter sunday. WE gave her the sheet music to practice, hopefully everything will work out and she will be able to play for us at church! We ended the night by giving them a Book of Mormon and having a good conversation about it!

I don't really have much else to report on, same old going on over here. I am just happy to be here and soaking up all the time I have in Japan while I am here. I truly have grown to love this place and culture SO MUCH!

Benefits of being sick... the ward spoils you!

 Another day another Chocolate cake doughnut with nuts, my favorite doughnut! Yum! I took a picture so I could send it to Stephanie since I found out it is also her favorite doughnut.

My friend Stephanie had me cover her dance classes for me because she was going out of town. Her niece went on the Bachelor and made it to the final two. Stephanie needed to go be with her family for the home town dates. He niece Litia did not get the final rose which was sad but I did try to watch the b ache lore this season because I wanted to watch her niece. Honestly the show is so boring and I really do not like it, the bachelor makes out with all of the girls and it is just icky to me. I would fast forward through a lot of it  just to get to the parts Litia were in. After a few episodes I gave up on the show but I did have to watch th hometown dates episode to see if I could spot Stephanie. I had Rylee watch with me and it was so fun when I did manage to catch a view of my friend. I took her picture and sent it to her, she looked beautiful. She was not shown a lot bu the few glimpses of her we did see she looked amazing.

Kefford's Cousin Coby works as a manager at a lot of the buildings in downtown Boise. One of the newest buildings is Boise's now highest High rise and he talked Coby into taking Rylee and I to see it. It is an apartment building and the apartments were beautiful with amazing views of Boise. After the tour we stopped and got doughnuts and then went home.

Found this online and thought I would screenshot it. I really am not sure why other then I am a Scorpio and it was interesting to me.

Kefford took Rylee out to shoot some guns and I have to say she looks really tough. I love these pictures of her and love that Kefford likes spending the time with her.
